Uptown Garage Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Ankeny

I’ve been consistently coming since they opened and have only have great things to say until tonight.

Thursday’s is bags league, which takes over the turf outside. We knew this prior to coming but thought no big deal, we can be inside. However, by about 6:30 some of the bags league had moved inside. Taking over almost half the bar, including right by the kids area and cut off out access to the bar and the bathroom.

My first thought was no problem, we can go outside so my toddler can run, but no, half the bags league was outside too. This totally ruined our night there as my kid understandably wanted to move around and check out what was going on but was met with rude bags players and none of the typically open spaces.

This ruined our plans for the evening and we will be cognizant to not come back on bags...

I’d love to understand how you can have “Brewing Co.” in the name but not actually brew beer?!? We had been looking forward to our NYE plans at your place and trying the newest brewery in town. Major disappointment... you’re a bar or a beer hall, you are not a brewery. And for serving other beer, the menu looks deceivingly large when in reality you’re out of 70% of the beers on the list. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars was because the food truck choice was excellent. One friend was so irritated with the entire situation, he left after an hour and went home. We definitely...

Stopped during a trip to Ankeny and couldn't find a table top be served, so had to wait for someone to leave. Were a little surprised with how full they were, but found out later that the entertainer was a local singer (and was really good).

The wait staff was extremely friendly, patient and helpful and the beer selection is awesome. There is an open area and garage doors for warmer weather...can't wait for Summer!
