Another COOL COOL COOL park with great playground in Ankeny.
One of the best engineering work when it comes to playground that I have encountered so far. Whoever designed this playground deserves a pay raise.
The platforms are well connected and integrated with all the climbs and slides.
Bars are at the right heights and steps are challenging yet accommodate for kids.
Well utilized with stuff to play above and below. So kids are engaged wherever they stumble upon. And shaded partially that you don’t feel much of the sun on you.
Swings are nicely spread out.
Sport courts are right next to the playground and look well kept.
Saw lot of kids playing and practicing today.
Restroom is clean and not smelly :-)
Did not see many benches and tables for picnic though....

We finally got to start playing on it, and we were ecstatic that, 3 years later, we could use our land again. That lasted for about a month. Now that playground is for the public ONLY. Even though it was Terrace Elementary's field. Our field for our school to play soccer and football and jump rope. And because of idiotic safety regulations set by our principal, we can't have our last day of school picnic out on the blacktop (where there is an 8' fence around) with ALL the parents and ALL the schoolteachers, because someone will take the kids.

Read moreThere are several of these newer parks in the greater Des Moines area. I assume they were all made by the same designer because they have these signature clear marbles, which are sensory and decoration on the playground equipment. Whoever the designer is, I like their parks. They are more whimsical and seem like actual playgrounds with their own unique personalities. The big bench swing that you have to use your core strength to move is probably one of my favorite pieces of equipment at this particular park. My kid made a lot of friends here because the park is right next to a school. Though it is not the...
