We had a wonderful time at the Christmas scavenger hunt that the Ankeny Area Historical Society out on this year. The kids got to learn and have fun. We hope they will do it again next year.

My wife, Lisa, and I had a fantastic time today with Billie and Lois and learned a lot about the history of Ankeny. I can't recommend this place enough. It was WAY cooler than I ever imagined. Fun for everyone. The staff was amazing and the displays were really professionally well done. We are definitely going back soon and can't wait for the events this summer....

This is a great place to learn about the history of Ankeny and surrounding communities. Consisting of a house and barn, each room is filled with artifacts. Make sure to check out the basement. They have displays on the first and second world wars. Overall, a great place with great people to teach the...

Old house that survived the '74 tornado standing on a spot very close to a school that didn't.

A very interesting archive of all things Ankeny. And a collection of period antiques that will have you saying, "Oh! My grandma had one of those!"
