Texas Roadhouse – Anna, TX | Food Review
If you’re craving a hearty, no-frills steakhouse experience, Texas Roadhouse in Anna, TX delivers exactly that—and then some. On a recent visit, I tried both the Beef Tips and the Sirloin Steak, and here’s how they stacked up.
Beef Tips: Tender, flavorful, and generously portioned, the beef tips were a standout. They come smothered in savory brown gravy with sautéed mushrooms and onions, served over a bed of rice or mashed potatoes (I went with mashed). The beef was fork-tender, with just enough chew to remind you it was fresh and cooked to order. The gravy was rich without being too salty, and the mushrooms added a nice earthiness. It felt like a classic comfort dish done right.
Sirloin Steak: Texas Roadhouse is known for its steaks, and the sirloin didn’t disappoint. I ordered it medium-rare, and it came out just right—warm, red center with a beautiful char on the outside. Juicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned, it had that perfect balance of steakhouse char and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Paired with a loaded baked potato and fresh Caesar salad, it hit every note.
Service & Atmosphere: Lively, friendly, and casual—exactly what you’d expect from a Texas Roadhouse. The staff was attentive and quick, even with the dinner rush. The warm rolls with cinnamon butter alone are almost worth the trip.
Final Verdict: Whether you’re a beef tips fan or a steak purist, Texas Roadhouse in Anna hits the spot. Great flavors, solid service, and generous portions—definitely worth the visit if you’re in the mood for some down-home...
Read moreThe girl who sat us said “is this y’all’s first time in this location” and didn’t say another word to us, it was so random and goofy. The waitress who helped up throughout the meal was spectacular! The food…..I ordered a pulled pork dinner. When it came out it was a log of white/dark meat that wasn’t shredded or pulled. I started to pull it apart and noticed the fat pieces weren’t looking as they should. They were thick and though, not like you find in pork meat. There was a mix of white and dark meat as I was pulling a little bit of it apart. I picked up a piece and gave it a sniff…it smelled like fried chicken, I took a bite and it tasted like chicken. I can’t stand the taste of poultry meat, never ever in my life have I had a bite of pork- seasoned or unseasoned- and thought it even remotely tasted like poultry. My wife tried a bite and said the same thing.
The amazing waitress said she’d take it off the bill for us, when the manager came over he started off saying the kitchen shreds the meat the night before, ok buddy but it wasn’t even shredded…it was literally still on the plate in a big log. He said there is absolutely no way it could’ve been accidentally mixed up. Great, but there’s always a chance for everything. Pork doesn’t smell like that, pork doesn’t taste like that, SHREDDED the night before it wouldn’t suddenly stitch itself back together and have fat pieces not found in pork dishes.
All together I wouldn’t return here, and it icked me out from pulled pork in general, they could be using whatever meat they want just to cut corners and...

The ambiance is exactly what you’d expect from a Texas Roadhouse—rustic, lively, and filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling steaks. The menu offers a great variety of hearty dishes, but I couldn’t resist going for the ribeye steak. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The side dishes, especially the loaded mashed potatoes and seasoned green beans, complemented the meal perfectly.
One of the highlights of the evening was the service. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, making sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. The overall service was quick, efficient, and friendly.
