Los Magueyes — Restaurant in Antigo

antigo resident- not as good as el tequila. tried it because it is “new” and “different” but i am loyal to el tequila!!! the staff is good and they are there to help- but the whole atmosphere is meh, trying to incorporate antigo into their mexican restaurant theme… tacky. the food is bland compared to el tequila and the portions and amounts of meat are less. the margaritas are watered down compared to el tequila. the prices are more than el tequila. i went to this place and got two adult meals and a child meal with a soda, two margaritas, and two shots of tequila for over $100 before tip- i went back to el tequila and got 3 adult meals, 1 child meal, 1 side, cheese dip for the chips, a soda, 2 margaritas, 4 shots of tequila, and a tshirt for less than $80 before tip and it was more flavorful, more meat, and the staff was more attentive. i am so sorry to el tequila for “cheating” on them and it will never happen again. this place is new and i am sure some people will enjoy it, but not me and my family. we are...

Place was dead on a holiday weekend Friday (Labor Day) that should have said enough... We sat in the bar area, 1 other person was in there, he left shortly after we got there... So just us in the bar... A few tables in the dining area, very not busy... We made it through a large margarita each and still couldn't get an order put in... The bartender and server would do everything they could to avoid eye contact and avoid helping us. After a half hour of no service we finally walked to the front, paid for our drinks and left. Bartender was clearly very high on God knows what in this town. Horrible service, save your time and wait until the next restaurant goes in this...

This place is wonderful! The food was excellent and they have a really nice menu with lots of choices!! Staff was very friendly-also respectful and attentive!! Also the drinks are amazing!!!! Our food came to the tables super fast and was absolutely delicious, everyone was very happy with their choices. On a side note, The restaurant was very busy but the acoustics of the building are nice and it wasn't so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with my family. It was nice not having to scream so my family could hear me...
