Oliver Fish House — Restaurant in Antioch

If I could give this place negative 0 stars I would. They do not give you enough food for the price. I took my family that was visiting out of town here. We did not eat inside this was a pickup order. We ordered a 2 way chicken and prawn dinner that comes with 1 small side and I orders yams, mac n cheese, and hush puppies as additional sides. The greens was so salty I almost died of high blood pressure later that night. The meal comes with only 2 prawns. Yes 2(two) prawns which is ridiculous and they was also under cooked along with the chicken. The mac n cheese had a sour taste like she either used mayonnaise or cottage cheese that went bad. The yams was decent. After we all enjoyed our yams and 1.50 can sodas, we noticed we had multiple random charges on our cards. We had been charged several credit/debit card fees on each of our receipts totally different amounts. If I did not work a 8 to 5 job I would be here everyday protest that they shut her restaurant down. It's very disappointing because the owner was really nice and polite but she should NEVER be allowed in a kitchen again. I would not recommend this...

I've patronized this establishment 5 times this year (2020) to support a black-owned business, and every time the wait is never under 1 hour, even though I am always told that the wait will only be 15 to 25 minutes. One time I went and placed an order for 20 wings, waited an hour and a half, but only received 10 wings (had to wait another 40 minutes for the rest). This last time I went, once again ordered a 20 piece chicken meal, waited over an hour, and was berated by the owner for asking for light salt on my soggy, greasy French fries. The customer service is non-existent, the food is over priced and the only option for soul food in the desolated area of Antioch, CA., and there is no consistency with the business hours. The owner takes every customer request personal, and nothing is ever improved. Glad that COVID-19 conditions require masks and take out only, because the restaurant is dated and needs to be cleaner. I won't be patronizing a business that treats its customers like an afterthought. This Black owned business needs...

It was really great being able to go to a Soulfood place that was not too far for me. The only issue with the food was that I asked for catfish, but I received tilapia. I asked for a two piece meal initially and a seven piece fish, and five piece prawn, which came up to $40 for both orders. I decided to make it a family meal which was $3 more! I received about 20 pieces of fish, which was tilapia NOT CATFISH (4) oysters, a small green , one small Mac and Cheese (5) prawns. The greens were pretty tasty but the fish was absolutely bland no salt whatsoever.
