Hacker's Grill — Restaurant in Apache Junction

Honestly I received the worst service I have ever gotten at this establishment this morning. When I arrived mind you most of the tables were not filled. I was not greeted and had to stand at the entry for a few minutes. Then a girl from the other end of the bar yells at me to sit at table 7.. well I don’t work here so I do not know where table 7 is and she didn’t come To walk to me to the correct table. I went to a table that seemed to be in the area that she pointed at and sat down. I remained sitting here with no menu awkwardly for over 5-7 minutes before someone finally walked up and asked if I had placed a drink order. I said no nobody has helped me. The lady took. My drink order and walked away. She returned with my coffee and water a few minutes later and said Do you need a menu? Well yes kind of so I can see what you have to offer. Another lady came and took my food order and returned with my food. I asked for ketchup and was given a very small container that wasn’t even a quarter full or ketchup and she left. That was it. Nobody every returned to help to ask me if I needed anything to refill my coffee. Nothing. I was just left. The hash browns tasted like they had been cooked in bad grease. Omelette was ok but I could have used more ketchup so I only ate a few bites as I was so disappointed in the service at this point I just wanted to leave. I put my card at the end of the table and the lady came to charge me out gladly. Asked if I wanted a coffee refill and responded that would have been nice earlier but I am leaving now so it’s a bit late. I think she realized they had forgotten about me but what was done was done and I just wanted to leave. Weird thing is I was by myself. Not a large party and didn’t require a lot of work....I thought it was a bit rude of her to ask if I wanted to leave a tip when they had offered me no service whatsoever. I said no thanks to the tip and left. I will not be returning obviously. IHOP is packed and offers me way better service then this...

WE TRIED AGAIN... 6/2025 Well, today might have been an even bigger disappointment... sadly enough. Some of our food presented as though it was "pre-cooked," & kept warm. To add insult to injury, two televisions on mainstream news, spreading what seemed like left-leaning "propaganda." You might at least consider one TV on either side of the aisle, or know you will limit your clientele.❤️🇺🇸💙

CLARIFICATION the food & service are a FIVE & have been both times we've been in. My husband & I were both impressed with the wait staff, their attentiveness to our needs along with the food - quality & quantity.

About the 3 stars.... an interaction took place at the front counter that was very inappropriate. When I asked who the woman was at the register, I was informed it was the owner. She reprimanded a waitress, who had initially sat us & took our order, & from that point on was so busy that three other women stepped in & they all took care of us. We never noticed this waitress ever "slacking" at all, she was on top of everything we could see, & even if she wasn't, the interaction at the front counter should have never taken place.

There's an old rule... "praise in public & criticize in private," & we believe it still...

Exceptional service, good food. Nice relaxed atmosphere - cafe style without a lot of racket but just enough to let you know you are in an active, home style cafe.

She had the crispy chicken salad and oh my, it had piles of fresh mushrooms, black olives, banana peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers with a smattering of red onion to go with a full covering of sliced crispy chicken over a substantial bed of iceberg lettuce. Very tasty!

I had a turkey burger with everything on it. The burger was one of those pre-formed patties, but better than some I've had before. What made it good was all the garnishments, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and onion on a nice toasted bun.

What made the experience really special was the hospitality. Several waitresses and a waiter greeted us and then did team service - not intrusive, but attentive. A coffee pot came by every few minutes for refills and food and drinks were promptly delivered with several check- ins to see if we needed anything else. And a nice touch, the check was delivered before we finished eating after we were asked if there would be anything else we wanted.
