The Backyard Bar — Restaurant in Apex

I'm not sure how I could give this place anything but 5 stars, but it deserves to be published.

We recently wanted to throw a 50th birthday bash for a friend. Backyard Bar was on our short list of places, so we stopped in one night to inquire. They were incredibly laid back about the entire thing - pretty much "whatever you need, whenever you need it, just let us know" was the vibe I got. The owners happened to be there that night and talked us through everything. We picked out a spot on the patio and were told that it would be reserved for us at the time we wanted.

When we showed up, the bartender made sure we had everything we needed, had given the people sitting in our reserved space a heads up that we would be there soon, asked what kind of music we wanted, etc. All night long the bar staff was attentive and kept the drinks flowing. The owners showed up to say hello, got some pictures of the birthday crew, and of course to ask if we needed anything. The band was great, even calling the birthday boy up on stage.

my band is booked for the 27 th of sept- confirmed in july- friends there last night and they texted me to say that another band is playing that night- we have received NO NOTIFICATION that we are not playing - having played music for decades this has NEVER happened and it speaks volumes about the management - seems it wouldn’t take much to say hey we accidentally booked 2 bands and we need to reschedule your appearance- i texted them yesterday about this when i heard and NO REPLY!

so minutes after posting this and giving a one star review- i received a call explaining what happened- the person who booked us is not employed anymore and all my communications with him were never forwarded- backyard bar handled this professionally and with sincere apologies and a commitment to us playing another date- well done backyard bar!...

I was looking for a venue for my wife's birthday party and when I contacted the owners of Backyard Bar, they were super accommodating. We communicated via email probably 10 times before the party just to bounce ideas off of each other. Jay and Tirone offered me 3 different areas to reserve for the occasion so I picked the space indoor since it's been 90+ degrees. Everything went as planned, Jay and Tirone were there to greet us while we set-up the space and they checked on us throughout the evening.
