The Gold Standard of Southern Comfort Food — Midas Burger Delivers Every Time!
If you’re anywhere near Arab, Alabama, and haven’t been to Midas Burger, you’re seriously missing out on a local legend. Since opening its doors in the 1960s, Midas has been the go-to spot for unbeatable burgers, crave-worthy fried chicken, and a sense of nostalgia that hits you right in the soul.
The history of Midas Burger is rich — not just in golden-fried goodness, but in deep Southern roots. It’s been a cornerstone of the community for generations. Whether you’re grabbing lunch with coworkers or stopping by after Friday night football, Midas has always been that feel-good place where memories are made and appetites are satisfied.
Now let’s talk food — because this is where Midas really earns its crown. The fried chicken sandwich is, without exaggeration, one of the best in the South. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with that signature chicken sauce that dreams are made of. It’s sweet, tangy, and addictive in the best way. They could bottle that stuff and retire millionaires.
And the burgers? Pure perfection. Classic, smashed, griddled, and layered with flavor — exactly how a real burger should be. Whether you go for the double with cheese or a bacon-loaded masterpiece, each bite is hot, fresh, and full of that “just-made” flavor you can’t get from a chain.
Everything at Midas is cooked with love and served with Southern charm. It’s not just a meal — it’s an experience. One that’ll leave you planning your next visit before you even finish your fries.
Midas Burger isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a rite of passage. And if you...
Read moreVery friendly and helpful cashier. Burgers are made to order so it's a little slow getting your food but at least it's made fresh.
I ordered a large cheeseburger and regular fries....the website describes the large as 1/2 lb and the regular/small as 1/4 lb of meat. I was expecting 1 large burger patty not 2 small ones. They should call it a double burger not a large burger.
The burger patties were cooked to different temperatures - 1 was well done, the 2nd was Very Well Done/Burnt. Bun top was overcooked and crunchy/burnt/squashed. Bun was obviously made for a larger patty, the 1/4 lb patties were lost in it. Onion was chopped, grilled and a small amount. Tomato was fresh and hand sliced, thick enough to taste. Lettuce was fresh and crispy.
Fries were crinkle cut, served hot and tasted like they were fried in fresh, clean oil. The only improvement need is way less salt- it really overpowered the potato taste.
I would score the food a 4 or 5 if the burger fit the bun, the meat was cooked less/more evenly, used onion slices instead of diced and cut back on the salt. .In a world of "precooked, slapped together burgers" it was nice to have a burger that reminded of something cooked on a...
Read moreFirst time we ate there it was okay, our food was brought to our car within 10 minutes of ordering it. We ordered a hamburger and fries and chicken fingers and fries. Everything but the chicken was tasty! The chicken was flavorless. The fries were okay, but the only way to eat it was with the sauce. The sauce was good this night. The second time we came to the location, we ordered a burger, fried pickles, and onion rings. We had to wait almost 30 minutes. We also paid for a side of the chicken sauce because it tasted good the first time. The chicken sauce was definitely not the same from the first night, it had a very distinct flavor in it that was off as well as water down. Since we had ate here just a couple of days ago we still had some of that sauce left, and tasted it to make sure that we were correct. The fried pickles were definitely not good, and the fried onion rings had to be the worst things I have ever tasted in my life. My burger was apparently cooked first. Because it’s cold. I do not like to feel like I waste money, I work very hard for my money. I can assure you that not a single penny of my money will be going back to this...
