Southern Hickory Barbecue — Restaurant in Arab

This is the only time I've ever had a complaint about SHB. I got 1/2 gallon of stew last night. We got home ate, it was awesome as always. Then I got up later to get a small bowl and opened the new quart and there's nothing but broth, a few onions, maybe 10 kernals of corn and about 8 potato chunks. So this morning I've opened a can of corn, baked two small potatoes and I'ma fix it best I can. Not everyone gets home and dumps all the quarts together and then serves from that. We eat from each quart and then move to the next one. This has never happened before. I love this place and it won't keep me from coming back. I just wanted to let y'all know so that y'all can tell whoever's scoopin the soup up into the containers to try to get it more even than this. I even took a video just now. I just don't want it to happen to a buncha customers because some may think it's the norm, and it isn't. But it still needs to be addressed. So SHB, we love y'all's food. Just make sure y'all scoop the soup even next...

We have picked up Southern Hickory many, many times and tonight’s order was the worst we’ve ever gotten. We always get the family deal and about 90% of the time, we get what seems to be 2-week old slaw. Tonight’s was the yuckiest we’ve ever gotten. It looked so bad, we refused to even try it. Now, when we open the container and you can tell it’s fresh and lots of nice green cabbage, we are excited to finally get good slaw. But most of the time, it looks old…tonight through… it was ridiculously old. Like how in the world could anyone in the kitchen even serve this? Then! We order a half a pint of potato salad. I open it up and… it’s lacking! The 20+ times I’ve ordered a half pint, I’ve always had it filled up. Ugh. We usually pick up once every 2 weeks but now?? It’ll be a while before we go back to...

If i could give 0 stars, i would. The food is nasty! The pork tasted like pure salt, no meat flavor at all. The sauce tasted like vinegar and sugar and had grease floating on top, ew. The potato salad was potatoes and mayo, again ew. Didnt even bother tasting the slaw or beans, too scared. I called before taking the food back and the girl, jessica maybe?, said it was fine, to come back and get a refund. When i got there, they told me that they would take the food back, but that they dont give refunds... uh, no k. I had to stand out in the cold and wait for them to call a manager to approve a refund?? I did get my refund and i wont be returning. Just a warning, the food is nasty and they dont like...
