Stumbled across this place on maps while looking at nearby restaurants, and was surprised to see that the reviews are 99% 5 star reviews. (...and to be fair, the 1 star reviewers ordered the cheesesteak sub and fried fish, so is it really the restaurants fault? It does seem weird to see those items on the menu but I can't trust anyone who orders a cheesesteak from an Indian spot)
I decided to try the butter chicken, it was excellent. A little sweet, a little spice, well seasoned overall, and very fragrant. If I had a small nitpick, the chicken was a bit dry, but once shredded and mixed with the sauce it evened out well enough.
The garlic naan had big chunks of garlic and was perfect to dip in the sauce. Maybe a bit pricey but still pretty worth it.
Gotta come back for the daily buffet to try all the other dishes!
Edit: updated after a handful of trips back. I still haven't found a bad dish. My favorite is the chicken curry, although the heat level has varied - one time it was almost sweet, and the other it was quite spicy. I was a little disappointed with my chicken tikka masala, but only because the straightforward tomato and cilantro fell way short of the complex flavors of curry or butter chicken. If I didn't know what I was missing I would have loved it more. Always fresh, well made, good service.. what more...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience here overall.
We started with the Special Biryani that came with goat, chicken, and shrimp. The taste was quite good — aromatic and well-seasoned — but the portion was shockingly small for the $19 price tag. It was served on a single plate with very limited quantity (photo attached), definitely not worth the cost.
Next, we tried the Chicken 65 Biryani. The chicken pieces were large and didn’t resemble authentic Chicken 65 — they lacked the crispiness and flavor you’d expect. Worst of all, we found a hair in the biryani, which was completely unacceptable. For $17.99, the quantity was again disappointing.
We also ordered Chilli Chicken, which tasted fine, but the portion size was again very underwhelming.
On top of all that, the service was extremely poor. When we entered the restaurant, no one welcomed or even acknowledged us. After sitting for over 10 minutes, we had to call the staff ourselves to place the order. They were inattentive and seemed to neglect our table completely.
Verdict: While a few dishes had good flavor, the poor service, small portions, high prices, and lack of basic hygiene made it a very frustrating experience. Definitely not worth the money...
Read moreIf you are looking for a good Indian restaurant, THIS IS IT ! I highly recommend Kabob & Curry in Lithicum. The food was made fresh and was so good. They have these amazing homemade mango smoothies that they make right there in the store. I ordered the Lamb Curry and the Tandoori Mixed Grill and I'm telling you, it was perfect ! Besides all that, the owners and employees were so nice and extremely welcoming. I felt like they took pride in their food and in the business. They definitely made me feel felt really important as a customer to them and wanted me to be happy. The owner even gave me complimentary rice pudding. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. They were so polite and respectful and that is really refreshing now a days. I just haven't been to a place with both good food and good service in a long time so when i find it, i appreciate it. They deserve 10 stars. Another thing i noticed which also impressed me was how clean, orderly and nice the place was. They keep up on keeping it clean and sanitized. I think anyone who tries this place...
