Dutchy's Pizza — Restaurant in Arcata

Pizza was edible and some bites were pretty good. The center of the pizza crust was pretty undercooked. The crust itself when cooked had a good crisp texture but was pretty bland in taste. They are very generous with toppings, which is a nice change for a local spot! Tons of extra bacon on the Yeti! Cheese was good! High quality- good cheese pull! Veggies on the Bigfoot- lots of them but also bland. A little salt would have helped. Probably twice as many olives and mushrooms as bell peppers and onions and too many made it a little bitter. The sauce- when I actually tasted it- was good! My party and I could barely see let alone taste the sauce for either the Yeti or Bigfoot. The staff were nice, pleasant, helpful and speedy! No issues there. Overall, an okay pizza with pretty good service. Some small tweaks...

Ordered a large(18") margherita pizza for delivery on a chilly wet night. Showed up timely and still warm👌🏼taste great, quality dough, and ingredients. However can't give this place a better rating yet unfortunately, even though I heard owners are originally from ny area(nj), as am I, and the pizza style seemed true to that, but there wasn't any tomato sauce on it!??...margherita is a simple pizza recipe, that ALWAYS should include sauce. Disappointed because I basically payed $30 for some bread with some cheese, and a few slices of tomato and basil(all local ingredients), which was more than the Hawaiian pizza cost that had meat and an imported ingredient(pineapple)..?? Come on guys, you can do better than that. Otherwise good...

Dutchy's is Great! This place is one of my favorites for Pizza in Arcata. Im personally not a big fan of NY "style" of pizza, but Dutchy's adds their unique Arcata style to it. Thin large slices, crispy on the bottom, and still have a nice fluffy crust. Great things can come from a small place. Every Saturday they get local ingredients from the Farmers market, then make a unique pizza out of what they get. One time i had a pizza with "balsamic infused onions, heirloom tomatoes, hot honey, and more..." Their hot honey is on another level!
