My husband and I live in Arecibo and we spotted Savanna, a fairly new food establishment. We dined there on a Saturday night. The place was inviting with fun decor and good classic PR music. I ordered an appetizer of a variety/mix of beans with chips. The chips were not typical maize chips but appeared to be of flour. They were light and crispy and went well with the beans in a light seasoned oil, which by the way was a good portion. After eating the appetizer, I knew we had made a good choice in choosing to eat there. I had the Jibarito and my husband opted for the 8oz steak. The golf sized mofongo balls that came with my dish were excellent. I had requested for them to be of plantains and not of "pana". Pana doesn't agree with me and the replacement request was no problem. They were loaded with big fresh chunks of garlic and moist. Both steak dishes were TENDER and well seasoned. Again, portion size was satisfying. All the staff at the restaurant were extremely hospitable. Wait time for food was very good. The bill came promptly. Total, 49.10.This included the appetizer, two steak dishes, a coffee and a beer. We are definitely going back first week in February when my brother, wife and...
Read moreWhat I like about this restaurant is the ambiance decorations and everything are phenomenally done. You got me feel like you're stepping into somewhere different the way that the tables have believed and some tables have animals on them and then the walls have different paintings with animals and such. The employee were pretty punctual and helpful whenever they weren't too busy with other clients. The time that I came there they were offering the lunch menu and the regular menu ,which I went with me regular menu. I had the chicken with shrimp and a side of Jollof rice. It isn't 100% authentic but it's good to try. I also ordered the pina colada which was...

The portions were huge and very flavorful, i had spicy crab on plantain tostadas and they were delicious. The server was very friendly and helped us take a photo in the end :) highly recommend...
