Uncle Mikes Bistro in Argyle, I had hoped would be a delightful experience turned into an outright disaster, marred by subpar food, poor service, and a shocking lack of cleanliness.

From the moment we stepped inside, the space felt cramped and neglected. There was virtually no room to move comfortably, and the entire establishment was in dire need of remodeling. Dust was thick in the air, visibly hanging over us, coating surfaces, and making it difficult to ignore the unsettling feeling that cleanliness was not a priority. The lack of upkeep alone was enough to make me hesitant about eating, but what followed removed any doubt.

The young woman working at the front displayed little interest in assisting us, her attitude was unwelcoming. It’s like we were inconveniencing her.

When our food finally arrived, it was delivered by a man with an exceptionally long beard, which hovered over my plate as he was walking toward us and as he set it down. The sight was beyond unprofessional, and all I could do was silently hope that he had not been the one preparing the food as well. Unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed when I found not one, but multiple hairs—one in my butter and another directly on my plate. Uncle Mike’s Bistro is not just in need of improvement; it is in need of a complete overhaul. Between the unprofessional service, lack of hygiene, and truly unsettling dining conditions, there is absolutely no reason to return. With so many other restaurants in the area that take pride in their food and atmosphere, I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. Save your money and run! If I could give zero...

I stumbled upon this charming bistro tucked away in Argyle, and it's an absolute delight! Mike and Valerie, the dynamic duo behind this local gem, have created a welcoming haven for food lovers.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuine smiles and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. The intimate setting of the restaurant adds to its charm, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal.

It's refreshing to see a local business where the owners are not only present but actively involved in every aspect. Mike's dedication to his craft and Valerie's attentive service make this bistro a standout in the community.

What truly sets this bistro apart, however, is the warm and friendly service provided. We were made to feel like valued guests in their home. The genuine enthusiasm for the food and genuine care for the customers created a dining experience that goes beyond just a meal.

I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to support this local treasure. Whether you're a resident of Argyle or just passing through, make a point to visit this bistro. You'll not only enjoy fantastic food but also contribute to the success of a truly special local business.

In a world filled with chain restaurants, Uncle Mike's Bistro is a reminder of the unique and personal touch that locally owned establishments bring to the table. Bravo, Mike and Valerie! Thank you for creating such a wonderful place. We'll definitely be back for more culinary...

What a find! My husband found this little gem for a brunch date with his dad, and it did not disappoint. From the second you walk in, it feels like you're part of the family so seat yourself and wait for your friendly waitstaff. I ordered a delicious chicken sandwich with tomato and avocado. The side was a choice of chips or cucumber salad. (If you would be that person who ordered the chips, just stop reading this review because McDonald's is where you should be eating.) The cucumber salad had the right amount of everything -- seasoning, cucumber, vinegar -- AMAZING. My one disappointment was that they didn't have sweet tea; but, our waitress brought me an unsweetened tea with a side of peach-flavored syrup to "try" and... WOW! Peach teas all around, please. After the meal, we had three people come over to ask how the food was and if we were satisfied. I'm going back. This time, I'm...

We are in town for the Eclipse and found this cozy place with high ratings. We were not disappointed. Plenty of tables inside and outside for the Sunday morning crowd, but I can just imagine it can easily get packed. The food was delicious. I had the French toast meal. It was cooked perfectly. My husband chose a build-your-own burrito and loved it. He throughly enjoyed his vanilla cappuccino, and a good size too. The atmosphere and decor reminds us of quaint cafes in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. The prices do not, very reasonable. Mike does all the cooking. Wife Valerie was doing the waiting and clearing, handling it all like a pro. There were several regulars as Valerie seemed to know many customers. We will for sure come back next time we are in town. We may visit again before we leave if time allows.

Hidden Gem in Argyle — Uncle Mike’s Bistro I stumbled into Uncle Mike’s Bistro for breakfast and was immediately charmed by its cozy atmosphere and warm welcome. The avocado toast was fresh and flavorful, the omelettes were absolutely divine, and the latte? Strong and bold—just the way I like it. What truly stood out was the outstanding customer service. Friendly, attentive, and genuine, the team made the experience feel more like a visit with family than a stop at a restaurant. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Argyle, I highly recommend giving this bistro a try. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.

Cute little cafe, looks like they need to update their display broads as they were missing or covered. Quite busy for a Tuesday at 10am but very local and friendly. One gal running the whole front, very nice and we were patient. Standard breakfast/lunch fare. We'll go back for lunch and try to sit outside when it's cooler. Coffee is in a big cup which is great, pancakes are strong with vanilla but not sweet. Syrup compliments its dense chewy texture. I couldn't finish, but taste fresh and homemade.
