This is an update to my review 4 months ago, but much shorter. This is a great restaurant and still a go-to place for us. The food quality is excellent, the service is not just excellent, but I'd go as far as saying it's warm, yes, warm, the ambiance is excellent (quiet, you can have a conversation, I like the wall art), and the value is great - not just the food, but a reasonably priced wine list with a good selection. We are treated so well here (I'd say like family but it may be better than some families treat each other, ha!). Mezze platter can't be missed. Falafel is the best I've had; fresh, warm pita, great cheeses (not just feta) and olives. Just eat here. Wow. Can’t believe we live so close and hadn’t tried It’s Greek To Me until now, but very happy with our first experience! First of all, yes, you DO need to make a reservation. Stop trying to walk in because there aren’t all that many tables so it’s just a good idea to make a reservation to be sure. Depending on how busy it is, if you walk in, you may need to wait a couple of minutes because the hostess is also the server. We had Marissa and she was FANTASTIC! I mean, she does it all! She’s seating people from the host station, she’s taking orders, bringing food out from the kitchen, serving drinks, and she’s able to keep up! She’s also very personable and pleasant, and that really helps you enjoy the dining experience.
The ambiance is nice, too, it’s got linen tablecloths, the seats are very comfortable, the tables are spaced out well, you can have a nice quiet conversation, and on top of the excellent service, the food was EXCELLENT! On top of THAT, they have PLENTY of gluten-free options. There are several restaurants in the area that offer gluten-free options, but honestly, in terms of the variety, It’s Greek To Me has them all beat. I mean, for heaven’s sake, even the falafel is gluten-free! And gluten-free or NOT, it’s DELICIOUS! And the portion sizes here are quite large. We ordered the mezzo platter as an appetizer, and it came with PLENTY of nice fresh, warm pita bread (which was delicious, by the way, it’s never the star of the show for these appetizer platters but don’t sleep on the pita here, it’s really quite good!), along with a few dolmas (great!), cubes of feta (excellent, legit feta, not the stuff you buy in the grocery store), nice briny olives (green and black/kalamata), another type of cheese I didn’t recognize but was excellent, tahini, and hummus. Not one of those elements was off the mark. And there are plenty of other great looking appetizers (like the Saganaki).
Vegetables are even fresh and delicious (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, all great)! Falafel was spiced just right. I mean, we’re old and not that spice tolerant but this falafel was really flavorful, and it was not dried out on the inside, and crispy on the outside. AND it’s gluten-free? Get out of here! (And vegetarian for those who need that option).
The menu has plenty to choose from. Which is great because I can see us coming here on a regular basis. Because I also forgot to mention a very nice reasonably priced wine list, and a delicious set of desserts (they were out of the rice pudding on our visit but man, that chocolate cake was memorable as well - usually those GF chocolate cake desserts are like a brick, but this was actually light and fluffy, and not overly sweet, and the accompanying whipped cream was great!).
Great ambiance, service, wine list, and food, including gluten-free and vegetarian options? You CANNOT go wrong here. ...
Read moreWOW. As soon as we were done with dinner, we both said that we need to leave a review asap.
We came as first time patrons without a reservation, and let me tell you, there's a reason that the weekends require a reservation - the food and service is everything you are looking for.
The hostess was very polite letting us know that we wouldn't be able to have a sit down meal, but offered take out. Since we were both in the mood for a Greek meal, we happily ordered take out and waited. We were offered a beer while we waited (this was such a surprise) and the food was prepared within 20 minutes on a busy night. For the sheer quantity of food that we received, the price cannot be matched! On top of the fact that every single thing tasted absolutely lovely.
I spent a large portion of my life in Europe and had been blessed with real, authentic Greek food prepared by Greeks, and the meal I had tonight took me back there immediately. My husband and I feel so fortunate to have such a spectacular place close by. We will absolutely be back and we will bring our families...
Read moreCustomer Service: Amazing!!! I originally ordered on Uber Eats but after waiting over an hour, I decided to call the restaurant directly because I was pretty sure it was an error on Uber Eats’ end I wanted to see if I could just come pick it up myself. Turns out Uber Eats never even sent them the order, but It’s Greek To Me whipped up my family’s order and had it ready by the time I got there to pick it up. They were SO sweet and helpful. I can’t remember the last time I ever had such amazing customer service— everyone there was so friendly and kind!
Food: Oh. My. God. As a vegetarian, Greek food has always been my go-to favorite, but this has to be the best Greek food I’ve ever had! We had the hummus and pita, olives and cheese, dolmathes, and honey yogurt cake. Every single bite was incredible!
All this to say, we are definitely going to be lifetime customers. I already informed my family that once this virus is over and things are back to normal, I want all of my birthday dinners to be held there (but we’ll definitely be going back there way more than...
