We are absolutely sad about the new menu. We couldn't wait to come for dinner and were so disappointed. There is nothing special at all! Food was okay at best. We have been coming from Tucson for 7 years because the menu was special and different and fun! The small plate concept was the draw and now it's just another restuarant. This menu is so subpar and filled with boring mediocre things that you can get anywhere! We are so disappointed! We came last week for my birthday and honestly the only thing that saved the experience was the waiter Mikey who was not even our waiter that night by the way, he saw the birthday dessert on our table and ran and got a candle and sang to me with another table of customers and my husband. Mikey is a treasure, our waitress watched from across the restaurant. She didn't give bad service, there was just nothing special or stand out about it. The pasta fagioli soup was okayish, I much prefer my own or the one at Olive Garden. The rice balls weighed like lead weights in our stomach. They tasted alright but only had 4 tiny pieces of pancetta inside with a small ball of cheese and they were so dense and just plopped on top of tomato sauce. It used to feel unique, and now it's just okay at best. Thank you Mikey for saving the day! The singer that night was also amazing. Someone needs to re-evaluate the menu or you will lose all your business. On a Friday night it was dead, we were surprised about that until we saw and experienced the new menu. We literally watched 2 groups come in, look at the menu and leave! Another thing that used to be special were the fun couches and coffee tables. Now those are just pushed in the corner and replaced with new boring tables. It's like everything we loved about Oak and Fork has gone away....
Read moreAlthough I live in Peoria, I make it a point of eating at Oak and Fork at every visit to Ak-Chin. I have brought friends and family to dinner here numerous times and it's never been a disappointment.
I'd like to make a few shout outs from my recent visit.
Nicole (I believe), our waitress, was amazing! She's served me many times in the past, and for those of you who are fans of metal music, this woman is your queen! She compliments my band shirts each visit - I find it rare and special that another female has an appreciation for Pantera and the likes beyond myself! Beyond that, she is stellar at her customer service and is passionate about her job.
Debra, the host, was a random and unexpected burst of fun! I complimented her on her slot machine earrings, which stemmed the most unique and interesting conversation about her prior life in radio and all the people and bands she has met. She had such a wonderful and comforting personality and a joy for life that is contagious.
The food and libations are great for sharing and sampling. I only wish this spot was closer to my home as I'd frequent it more often versus every few months when I trek to the casino.
Thanks you again Oak and Fork for another...
Read moreWow. We went Friday night right before a show we attended for a concert and wanted a quick bite to eat and glass of wine before entering concert. We were greeted by Debra, who suggested we take the small table by the entrance and get "double cushion" on the upright chairs as she fixed up for us to make it comfortable for my wife and I to sit. Such a great spot to sit and Debra the hostess came by many times to check on us to see if we were comfortable. Couldn't of found a more perfect personality for that position at this wine bar. After we were seated, we were able to listen to the guitarist play some music as we sipped our drinks and our waiter Mikey showed up. Best service we received from a waiter in a long time as my wife and I were thinking, "this place has outstanding energy and service!". If you go, make sure you request Mikey as he resembles a laid back personality that pairs with a wine bar climate and atmosphere perfectly. So yes we will be back to Oak and Fork wine bar! Thanks Debra and Mikey for making our first visit one...
