I love the food here, I regularly get the Sapo chicken plate & my husband likes the tostadas from here, his favorite. I have tried other dishes that are yummy too. They also have good cocktails & traditional virgin drinks too. The wait depends on how much staff to customers there’s but it is worth the wait. When you see a bunch of hispanic customers & staff, it is always a good sign that you’ll get traditional good food, not Americanized Mexican food. The staff, does know English (or enough) & can take care of your needs. We pick this food over PaPasitos and other over priced food establishments because the food speaks for itself & it’s also reasonably priced. The decor is cute but I wouldn’t say it is a great “Insta” place unless you are a food capturer to make others drool, their heart goes in to their food & drinks. I like that they have a billiards hall & bar next door, if we wanted to we can just go right next door for a good time and keep our drinks coming. :) It’s not hard to find parking normally, probably because it is kind of a...
Read moreNice little restaurant that tries to give the best authentic Mexican experience while also catering to the Tex-Mex crowd. The restaurant was very clean, and the frog art is a cute reference to the name of the place. The margaritas were on the sweeter side, but never tasted "syrupy", and hit the spot. Our appetizer, changuitas de camaron, came out looking and tasting great, though it felt like maybe a few of the ingredients were absent. I took a traditional entree, guajillo chicken, and while it felt slightly overcooked (dry), it was still full of flavor, and the seasoned grilled tomatoes and zucchini were a nice complement to the protein. The wife went Tex-Mex with the sour cream chicken enchiladas, and said that they did not disappoint. Biggest gripe I can think of was the time it took to get our food, considering how slow it was at the time, but it wasn't excruciating, and arguably worth the wait. I'll definitely be back to try a few...
Read moreWe ordered large queso for an appetizer, then I decided on the Chavas which is a cheese enchilada, crispy taco, beans and rice. I asked for chili sauce on my enchilada. Everything was very tasty. Their chips and salsa also tasted good: most of the chips were warm, thin, and crispy; the salsa tasted fresh with a decent hint of heat.
Others ordered the nachos with meat, beans, pico, cheese, and sour cream (on the side). We liked that they are created on each chip rather than toppings piled on a bunch of chips. The chips were slightly thicker to accommodate the toppings. Their fajita enchiladas are delicious and their tacos are stuffed with good meat, cheese, pico, and lettuce. Be warned! The ground meat is spicy! -...
