FOOD IG: @northtx.gemz •••• 🍒WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: Paleteria offering a huge variety of different Mexican dessert combinations! 🍒WHAT WE ORDERED: • Pepino Loca • La Fruita Loca (I forgot to take a picture but it looks like the first picture) • Churro Sundae • Fresas con crema 🍒 PRICE: ~$5-6 for one order! 🍒 THE VIBE: super colorful. Girls that work there are kinda rude but we were taking awhile to order lol. 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes… I love the variety on the menu. •••• Overall Rating: 7/10 One of your local paleterias that offer a variety of Mexican desserts that will make your mouth water. This is the second time I’ve been here and I literally want to try everything on the menu! Be aware it is a little dirty because of the hole in the wall vibe but I literally had a piece of hair in a bite of the churro sundaes… which is why I deducted 3 points. Overall, this is a great junk food place 🤣🤣 I don’t get grossed out easily but I do think they need to train their employees a bit better to care a little bit more about their job because you could tell they really didn’t. Got hit with a bit of discrimination last night and it was completely avoidable if they had done the right thing. I put in my order including purchasing the last 2 churros (no one else was behind me at the time); (a family comes in 3 minutes later) Besides making my food wrong, the young lady comes up and says "I'm sorry, we're out of churros."; I responded with, "Ma'am how come you're telling me you're out of churros when I ordered the last 2?"; she pointed to the Hispanic family and said they bought em. So then I asked, "How were they able to purchase the churros when I was in the store before them and stated that I wanted them?"; she shrugged. I asked to speak to a Manager and all she told me was that some of the girls are new. I came in with only one person ahead of me, I was waiting to be served and a group of poeple came in; When there was a server available she went to the group behind me and skipped me altogether as a customer. I asked "Could someone take my order", someone finally came out I asked her why was I skipped she said the other server only spoke Spanish only and that she was going to take my order but was busy; This is highly unprofessional to not serve someone based off of whether they speak Spanish or not; I don't know if they understand but it comes off as a bit racist; then she and the other server had the nerve to begin talking about me in Spanish. I read another review of someone that had this experience before but I tried to give them the benefit of a doubt; Never did I expect for it to happen to me.
