I wanted to love Stilly, as I love checking out local diners and brunch spots. The experience certainly wasnât ideal, however. We sat down right away, ordered drinks, and after I got my coffee my girlfriend was left waiting for her drink. Next time the server came around she asked if we needed anything else, my girlfriend noted âjust my coffeeâ and they ran back and made it for her. No biggie, it happens.
We ordered our food, and when it came out only my girlfriend was served. Again, we were asked âanything else?â and I said âjust waiting on mine, otherwise weâre good!â assuming itâd be out momentarily. The server looked confused but said okay, walked back to the kitchen. She came back a couple minutes later and asked what I ordered. Told her country fried steak. She says âsomething happenedâ and the kitchen never got my order. I gave it to her again. 15 minutes of watching my girlfriend eat later, and I got my food. Overall the food was quite good, no complaints there. I did feel frustrated about the multiple miscommunications on service. Also felt as though there wasnât much accountability or effort to make it right when it was chalked up as âso randomâ that it happened (though I see it as more of a pattern after the coffee).
I donât intend to be overly negative, I just felt these hiccups really disrupted what was meant to be a nice meal together when we could not enjoy our...
Read moreUpdated Review 2/24/20: My review of Stilly has its rating decline precipitously from 5 stars previously, to only 3 stars currently. What used to be really good has gone downhill. I didn't hear anything on the news about it, but did the ownership change? The menus are redone from their monochrome originals, and the wait staff changed over. Service is still good with the new staff, but the food is sadly sadly a pale shadow of its former self. Hash browns now taste like Costco rehydrated ones, and my neighbor's pancake stuck to her plate like a wet rag. I asked for extra crispy hash browns, and they came out limp and sad and over salted.
There used to be crowds lining out the door here on a Sunday morning, and this time when we went, it was noticeably less crowded. I guess the word's gotten out that Stilly it not what it used to be. Which makes me hugely sad, because it was a great diner with great food and local to Arlington too. If the owners read this: work harder and please restore Stilly to its original glory! I want to support the local business, but only if it actually is as good as it used to be.
Original Review: Stilly has the best, most massive breakfasts in Arlington. Get the hash browns extra crispy! That's my favorite with the California Eggs Benedict. Highly recommended for breakfast. It gets busy and there's usually a wait if you get there after nine...

One of the absolute must-tries at Stilly Diner is their legendary cinnamon rolls. These aren't just any cinnamon rolls; they are truly awesome and famously large â often bigger than your head! They're a delightful indulgence that can easily be shared (or bravely tackled solo).

But perhaps the crowning glory for many, particularly those with a hankering for comfort food, is their biscuits and gravy. Hands down, they are the best in the region for being truly comparable to southern style. For anyone feeling a bit homesick for that authentic taste, Stilly Diner's biscuits and gravy are a comforting and delicious remedy. It's a definite recommendation for locals and...
