ZAVALETA'S MARISCOS RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Arlington

I've been dinned in a few times and tried a few dishes, of course I have had the popular Poseidon soup! Two thumbs up!! It's delicious. You can't regret ordering it, it comes with so much seafood goodness in it, it's good for your soul!

Their try with ceviche stile shrimp "aguachiles" is a good try but in my opinion, they need to perfect the marinate time for the shrimp to absorb the lemon acidity to cure the shrimp, let it become firm and opaque while absorbing flavor. The flavor of the sauce is there but the consistency of the shrimp on two occasions was either "overcooked" or served looking and smelling raw as if it was not allowed to marinate enough time.

Their shrimp cocktail served in the green sauce could have been amazing if only the density of the avocado and cilantro wasn't too strong, when I order a shrimp cocktail I expect for shrimp to be the main character, the sauce should only enhance the shrimp flavor but in this case the avocado was so heavy that I couldn't taste the shrimp. It was like a mix of guacamole and cooked shrimp. Definitely not what I imagined by the description.

Service is great for a Latin restaurant, I'm happy to experience a higher level of service at this new restaurant, it seems that they have acquired the team service concept from high end restaurants in the area and it's working! Well done!!

First time coming here it was advertised by chepe and patty and the radio also tic tock.......... The food was amazing everything was delicious..... But the service is 0 out of 0....... I waited 24 min for a redbull and water n I only timed it due to the previous reviews......... not once did the waitress came back and ask us if we needed anything after our food came out..... We asked for a to go box for my food ..... I was done with my plate n drink but my sis in law still was sipping her drink they picked up the plates and drinks n didn't ask if we were done they took my sis in laws drink n she wasn't done. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! where do I begin. Let me start by saying that the food is horrible. We ordered an appetizer (fried calamari) it tasted stale, old and like chewy rubber. WORST CALAMARI WE EVER HAD. 2nd Order was the tableta which was $50 we asked for medium well and got burnt to a crisp meats, and the sides were bland it was rice and the worst potato salad ever. Our server we only saw when she took our order, and when she brought our food over, had she checked on us we would've informed her of our complaint. To many other complaints I can go on about.
