A solid-tasting, and always-busy offering of Tex-Mex in NOVA, with good drinks and plentiful food. --- My significant other and I visited here on a Friday night. I've visited a few times in the past, and it's always very busy. Tonight was no exception - we got one of the last tables at 5:45 and until we left there was a huge line at the door for a table. The restaurant is well decorated inside, with a nice bar and orange-ish walls. For as busy as this place always is, the space is a bit small and large parties next to each other can feel very crowded. The service was solid, especially for how busy it was. For food and drinks we kept it simple - to go with the chips and salsa I got a Diet Coke and Claudia's Platter, while my partner ordered a Margarita and a Fajita Salad without the Taco Bowl. I really like the Chips and Salsa - chips are fried right and the salsa is flavorful with the perfect amount of spice for 90% of people. The margarita on the rocks was very good, but strong. Would recommend if you're looking to get ahead of your night out. The entrees were solid, although not the best I've had in town. The food is plentiful - especially the platters. However with the loads of cheese it was hard for the flavor and spices of the meet to come through, and while I really liked how the rice was prepared the beans were a bit too liquid and lacking of flavor for my taste. Overall a solid, casual dinner experience outside of the main streets of Arlington. Although be prepared for crowds and a wait if you come during dinner.

This place…I have a lot of good memories here. For one, if you like really good strong margaritas this is the place to go. I used to live in this neighborhood and would often meet up with friends, get smashed, and walk home. In fact, this place also used to be my go to snow storm restaurant. It didn’t matter how cold or snowy it was, me and my best friend used to walk here all the time, get really good tex mex and get a margarita pitcher and walk home. I even take my parents here when they come visit. My dad loves the food here. I like the tacos and the steak fajitas. Really good reliable service. No frills but a welcoming place. Highly recommend. I am overdue for a visit. Parking can be a pain. Recommend walking if you can.

Excellent Tex-Mex and El Salvadorian restaurant nestled in the heart of Arlington, VA. Quaint, family-friendly atmosphere with friendly waiters and staff. Smoke free facility with a full service bar. Two televisions with local sports and Fotbol (American Soccer) on gamedays and Mexican/El Salvadoran/Spanish music playing in the background for ambiance. Food is well cooked by expert chefs. This restaurant is a staple in my family and welcomes walk-ins for takeout as well as dining in. No reservations needed (but may get crowded during peak dinner hours).

As a devoted fan of Mexican cuisine, I have found my haven in El Paso Cafe. This vibrant and authentic restaurant has won my heart, and I find myself drawn to its delicious offerings time and time again. From the moment you step foot into El Paso Cafe, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The cheerful decor, complete with colorful murals and traditional elements, transports you to the heart of Mexico. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and always greet me with a genuine smile, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Now, let’s talk about the food. El Paso Cafe is an absolute treasure trove for Mexican food enthusiasts. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional dishes and innovative creations that cater to a variety of tastes. Whether you’re craving sizzling fajitas, tangy enchiladas, or mouthwatering tacos, each bite is a burst of authentic flavors and carefully crafted spices. The ingredients are fresh, the portions generous, and every dish is prepared with great attention to detail. What truly sets El Paso Cafe apart, besides their fantastic food, is their consistency. I have never been disappointed during any of my visits. Each time, the quality and taste have been consistently excellent, proving that they take great pride in their culinary offerings. Additionally, El Paso Cafe has always managed to exceed my expectations when it comes to service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels valued and well-cared for. They are prompt, attentive, and readily available to address any special requests or dietary preferences. In conclusion, El Paso Cafe has secured a special place in my heart as my go-to Mexican restaurant. Its inviting ambiance, exceptional food, and top-notch service make it a standout choice. If you’re a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine and crave an unforgettable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend El Paso Cafe. I’ve gone to countless Mexican restaurants and If I could give a place zero stars, this would be it; genuinely the worst of the worst. We walked into the place which was completely empty the whole time we were in there (made sense why by the time we were finished). The food quality is as horrible as the staffs attitude. When we were done, our bill was over a hundred dollars for four people. My mother put aside a specific amount of money on her checkings account for this specific day as we were traveling. The waitress tried to run her card multiple times even after the bill was paid and the card of course declined. The “owner” came and we tried explaining to this stubborn person that the money was already taken out of the bank account and showed her the transactions. I don’t know why it wasn’t going through her thick skull that it was paid. At one point she told my mother “it sounds like you just don’t have any money.” Seriously? After five minutes of back and forth with this “owner” the banker was called who CONFIRMED that the bill was paid and the money was taken out which made her look like a total idiot. The “owner” does not appreciate her customers who are keeping HER bills paid and spending a hundred dollars in this empty dead establishment. She claimed that her business has been going for 35 years, but she’s either a liar or in a huge amount of debt because the food is trash and overpriced, and her attitude is horrible with her people. There’s HUNDREDS of other establishments in the area do not give your money to these ungrateful people who’s system doesn’t even work. There’s a reason why this place is dead in the middle of...

This is my family's go-to restaurant for casual dining on a night out. I was introduced to it by my late sorority sister over 20 years ago and reintroduced my family to it about 10 years ago. It's the only place I can find authentic or as close to authentic Tex-Mex. The salsa is fresh and homemade as are the chips. The steak has the best flavor and seasoning and I like how they grill their steak, chicken and shrimp. Even though we live in Alexandria, we make the drive because of the quality of the food, value and customer service. The staff know us by name and treat us like family. They are hardworking, prompt and attentive. My family usually orders the fajitas and I've tried almost everything on the menu except for the American food (for picky eaters, there are items like chicken fingers and hamburgers). Some highlights are the fajita platter with steak and shrimp, Claudia's Platter, Pershing Platter, Mario's Platter, the steak tacos, the fish tacos, chimichangas, quesadillas (particularly chicken) and salads. The portions are large and can be split or have leftovers for several meals. Most items are served with Mexican rice and your choice of pinto, black or refried beans (my family loves the refried and I like the black beans). On Fridays, they have a live mariachi band which is fun. It's a great family restaurant and one that we continue to support for years. The only thing I'd want to improve is the soda, so that they had Coke products like they previously had before the pandemic. I like Coca cola products and while you can get Mexican Coke in a bottle, they have Pepsi...
