Read moreIâve gone to countless Mexican restaurants and If I could give a place zero stars, this would be it; genuinely the worst of the worst. We walked into the place which was completely empty the whole time we were in there (made sense why by the time we were finished). The food quality is as horrible as the staffs attitude. When we were done, our bill was over a hundred dollars for four people. My mother put aside a specific amount of money on her checkings account for this specific day as we were traveling. The waitress tried to run her card multiple times even after the bill was paid and the card of course declined. The âownerâ came and we tried explaining to this stubborn person that the money was already taken out of the bank account and showed her the transactions. I donât know why it wasnât going through her thick skull that it was paid. At one point she told my mother âit sounds like you just donât have any money.â Seriously? After five minutes of back and forth with this âownerâ the banker was called who CONFIRMED that the bill was paid and the money was taken out which made her look like a total idiot. The âownerâ does not appreciate her customers who are keeping HER bills paid and spending a hundred dollars in this empty dead establishment. She claimed that her business has been going for 35 years, but sheâs either a liar or in a huge amount of debt because the food is trash and overpriced, and her attitude is horrible with her people. Thereâs HUNDREDS of other establishments in the area do not give your money to these ungrateful people whoâs system doesnât even work. Thereâs a reason why this place is dead in the middle of...
Read moreThis is my family's go-to restaurant for casual dining on a night out. I was introduced to it by my late sorority sister over 20 years ago and reintroduced my family to it about 10 years ago. It's the only place I can find authentic or as close to authentic Tex-Mex. The salsa is fresh and homemade as are the chips. The steak has the best flavor and seasoning and I like how they grill their steak, chicken and shrimp. Even though we live in Alexandria, we make the drive because of the quality of the food, value and customer service. The staff know us by name and treat us like family. They are hardworking, prompt and attentive. My family usually orders the fajitas and I've tried almost everything on the menu except for the American food (for picky eaters, there are items like chicken fingers and hamburgers). Some highlights are the fajita platter with steak and shrimp, Claudia's Platter, Pershing Platter, Mario's Platter, the steak tacos, the fish tacos, chimichangas, quesadillas (particularly chicken) and salads. The portions are large and can be split or have leftovers for several meals. Most items are served with Mexican rice and your choice of pinto, black or refried beans (my family loves the refried and I like the black beans). On Fridays, they have a live mariachi band which is fun. It's a great family restaurant and one that we continue to support for years. The only thing I'd want to improve is the soda, so that they had Coke products like they previously had before the pandemic. I like Coca cola products and while you can get Mexican Coke in a bottle, they have Pepsi...
