Papa's Restaurant — Restaurant in Armada Township

Our family has been customers for 20 + years. Our 1st visit was in the mid 90’s. Many life events and celebrations here. Everyone’s favorite was the cheesy potatoes. It was always worth the 40 minute drive, no matter what the weather. Today, ordered the cheesy potatoes. They came to the table different then they ever been served. Before, they were fresh hash browns with a creamy thick tasty cheese sauce, bacon and chives. Today, they were uneditable. Hash browns became cubed bagged potatoes and the cheese sauce was wrong in color and watery with a horid taste. The waitress dropped the orders off so quickly, we were unable to inquire about the change and our displeasure. Upon her return, her only explanation was the cook got tired of cooking the hash browns, thus the change. We told her we thought they were bad and didn’t want them and to take them off our bill. She came back later saying her manager said there was nothing they could do and they would not take them off our bill. Manager never came to our table or tried to make things right?

Today was my first time coming to this restaurant 9/8/19, there was a very big line at the door waited approximately 20 minutes and a lady had a nerve to cut in front of me because she was friends with the waitress until I spoke up. And the lady told me I didn't know you were waiting. Which was not true finally the waitress sat me down and I ordered my breakfast. It was the worst time of my life I got my breakfast the bacon was like cardboard my whole wheat toast was cold and when I finish my breakfast I got up to use the restroom came back to my table and they already had someone seated thinking I left. Because of that I immediately went and paid my bill and I forgot my phone drove all the way to Port Huron and I realized I forgot my phone on the table. Had to drive all the way back to Armada to retrieve my phone from the restaurant. This was the worst restaurant I have ever ate at. Nothing but bad luck all day and very bad food. You never have to worry about me coming back to your restaurant or recommend...

1/2025-stopped in again kind of late. Service, food, and atmosphere are still all 5 stars. We left at 8:59, they close at 9. They were gracious about it and we didn't feel rushed but did want to leave at closing. The only thing we thought needed improvement was the 5.00 margaritas. A bit weak, and the non-drinkers thought so too. Otherwise, great menu options and staff!

We met friends here. Pleasantly surprised at how great our meal was. We had a party of 9 and there were a couple of other large groups as well. Everything we ordered was excellent. Saganaki, burgers, salads, shrimp, Alfredo, all well prepared and fresh. Belkan Chevapi too! Which was excellent. They let us bring in a birthday cake for a child and the whole restaurant joined in on singing ❤️ Our waitress was a pro and offered excellent service. This is worth the drive from...
