Smokehouse Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Armagh Township

Stopped here on trip to Harrisburg, and I can honestly say that I would not recommend making the stop. I decided to go with with the pick 2 meats dinner and went with brisket and pulled pork and sides of mac and cheese and and loaded fries. My expectations for great bbq were definitely not high as I just wanted a quick meal to get back on the road. However, when my plate was brought out after a 1 hour wait from ordering, the food quite literally looked unedible. The pulled pork was very bland and yet that wasnt the worst part of the meal. The brisket I was served topped the list for absolutely atrocious. I dont know there process on making brisket, thawing it or ordering it from some door to door salesman with a freezer in his truck, but it looked like 3 slices of think cut bacon. The color of it was gray, even drowned in their store bought bbq sauce couldnt knock the nasty off whatever meat they brought out and classified as brisket. I have never in my life been served brisket that looked and tasted as bad as this place put out. Absolutely nothing in the meal stood out as anything id eat ever again. The mac and cheese looked and tasted like wet noodles with no cheese The only reason I could even eat any of it was because the loaded fries were drowned in nacho cheese which alone is a sad testament to the quality of food they put out. The single only positive to the place was that the waitress that did serve us was very nice and sweet. Absolutely no fault of hers that the food shes being forced to bring to unsuspecting customers couldnt even pass...

Amazing little spot. We were in the area staying the night and I found this place on Google. I personally got the 2 meat meal. I picked the fresh cut fries as my potatoe, they were a little thicker cut than my liking and not sure if because we got takeout and drove 5 minutes back to our hotel but they were not as crispy as I would have liked, also could have used some salt. My two meats, meatloaf (absolutely fantastic, good portion) bone in ribs (finger licking good, fell off the bone, sauce was delicious, 3 ribs for that portion). My two sides baked beans (delicious, had a bit of a spicy/tangy kick to them) macaroni salad (nothing special but still good). My partner got the two meat meal. Mashed potatoes with beef gravy (he loved it) meats were bone in ribs and brisket on a roll (he loved both and I tried the brisket which was amazing) his sides apple sauce and broccoli salad (he liked both but isn't a sides guy so he wasn't head over heels about them). My 9 year old son got a bacon cheese burger and fries and said it was the best he ever had,lol. One thing that drew me into this establishment was pricing when doing my research. Their prices are fantastic compared to other spots. All three of our meals came out to an even $40! Which if you think about just mine and my partners meal and how much we got to me that's really good! Overall great place with awesome food and good prices, service was amazing to! Grace is an absolutely wonderful young lady! She is witty and cordial, as well as a fantastic waitress. Very attentive to our requests and made some great suggestions. Drinks never got below 1/3 before she was making sure we had refills. The food was generally wonderful. I was with my two brothers on a Wednesday evening after a long day on motorcycles. We were staying next door at the motel, and this restaurant is literally 35 feet out the side door. Tracy, one of the owners, came by at our request, just to see if we could ascertain who thought up the fried pickles with peanut butter fluff as a dip, idea. I have no idea why it works so astonishingly well together, but it does. It was unusually good. The three of us are from VA, where drinking sweet tea is more of a religious experience than a simple beverage to be had. However, these fine folks nailed it. We each had one of the "signature sandwiches," and each was fantastic. Get the "Three Amigos", and bring some help! It's a delicious monster of an undertaking. This jewell of a restaurant is definitely worth a shot if you want some great food on a very wallet...
