Not the original 1945 recipe developed by Mooney and Lefty Martz. This is a very poor attempt at a "knock off". I've eaten thousands of original Mooney and Lefty pizzas since the 1950's and this does not come close: the cheese is not the same as the original; the crust is not the same as the original. The sauce is not the same as the original.
Here is the story:
Mooney and Lefty Martz owned and operated this from ~1947 to 1994. The recipe, business, and building was sold to Scott, Mark and Kim Phillippi and several other family members in 1994. Five years later they decided to expand and move the restaurant to Harrison.
Having purchased the exact P&M recipe from former owners Lefty and Mooney Martz, the Phillippis created their Birdville Pie, in honor of the Birdville section of Harrison where Phillippi’s is located.
The Phillippi’s trained with the Martzes of P&M for six months to learn and perfect the recipe and are the only restaurant in the world to have it. Others may attempt to imitate it, but they can’t authentically duplicate it.

Everything was excellent! We took plenty of pizza home bc we straight up couldn't finish everything, and it was all under $40 total for both of us!
You'll have to excuse the photos below. My camera really sucks with...

“American Girl” playing on the speakers. Drink just served to me by the loveliest of bartenders, Sue. I order my “P&M thin crust” and not having recognized me as a regular, Sue double checked with me to see if I was familiar with the P&M style. I assured her I was told to try it out by a friend who lives around here and loves it. I’m really glad I did! Super yummy for any cheese 🧀 fanatic! Really enjoyed the Italian Salad as well - simple, yet delicious!
The regulars I sat next to at the bar (Bob & John) made for great conversation and an all around nice...
