We ordered 2 small pizzas. We waited 40 minutes and saw the young woman serve people that placed an order after us before we inquired about our pizzas. We were told that 'the chef' burned them. Personally, I think they lost our order. The young woman offered us moz. cheese sticks. Finally, after another 25 minutes, we get one pizza out of 2. She said it was coming...waited another 10 minutes and I asked what was going on. I was told that the chef ran out of one of my ingredients that I ordered but I could have my pizza now for it was done. I asked for my money back on my pizza which she gave. I wish they were up front about burning the pizzas and out of ingredients. I shouldn't have to sit there and wait. I wasn't the only one. I saw another family having to deal with the same issue. Won't be back. The young woman was nice but not very experienced in dealing with situations like this and the guy in the back that they called a chef was no chef in my book. Giving a pizza with maranara sauce and a few pineapple pieces is not a pizza in my book. I ate it anyway for after waiting all that time, I was hungry. Other customers actually offered some of their left over pizza to us and the other family for they saw...
Read moreShort version: Don’t miss this rare find with stupidly delicious hand-crafted ice cream, brilliant seasonal and local flavors, charming decor, and absolutely lovely owners.
Long version: the Badger’s Hideaway embodies every definition of a “hidden gem”. Who would have thought so much “YUM!” could come from a refurbished an repurposed old bank in an off-the-highway historic town?
The power-couple that own and operate this great find have all the classics ice cream flavors on menu and also come up with seasonally inspired flavors that often feature local foods such as fresh peaches or hand-harvested honey. They’ll even craft creamy delights to complement plays and musicals held at the sensational Lyceum Theater around the corner. This week, in honor of a production of Grumpy Old Men, they featured a rum-raisin that dazzled my tastebuds!
Did I mention that it’s inside a historic bank building that the owners refurbished and furnished with their own hand-built furniture?? Along with their handicrafts you’ll also find many other delightful items from local artists, breweries, vineyards, and more!
I stop by just about every chance I get and have yer to be disappointed. I 100% recommend The Badger’s...
Read moreMy family visited during the Heritage Craft Festival. While I understand that they were very busy, the line was out the door, I’m giving a one star review because I cannot fathom an excuse for the man who scooped our ice cream to stick his bare hand in a jar of toppings and press it in to the ice cream rather than using a scoop, or putting on a glove. He had been handling credit cards and cash all day and did not stop to wash his hands before sticking them in the jar of toppings. I was too embarrassed to speak up in the moment, so I paid for our ice cream and left. We did not eat it, obviously. I would not recommend eating here as I worry you could get very sick due to the unsanitary practices. If they felt comfortable doing that in front of more than a dozen paying customers, imagine what they allow in the kitchen where no...
