I tried calling for 30 mins to order two plates of hard shell tacos, I couldn't get through. So, I drove to the drive through window to place an order. I was greeted by one lady who I told I just needed to place an order (since the phone was sitting off the hook) another younger girl comes to the window and tells me they're closed... it was exactly 1:19pm. So I told her the other girl didn't say anyhrung about being closed and that it says that they close at two that I was only going to order two plates of tacos (all food that is already pre-made anyway). So I pulled out my phone and showed her the time it says they're closing and she proceeds to tell me it's because of the holidays, when I point out the sign on the window lists their holiday hours and it says nothing about closing early today. So she reluctantly took my order. However, they can keep the tacos and I'll take my money and business elsewhere from now on. I'd already stopped going as often because of the service (not all but most) is horrible. Hopefully she'll get...
Read moreAs a recent evacuee from the Ruidoso Salt and South Fork fires we had no choice but to stay in Artesia for a few nights. The hotel notified us that Alma’s restaurant was helping by providing meals. We were in need of food and we took advantage of their generous offer. The staff were super friendly and took the time to listen to us. The restaurant was very clean as well as open and spacious. We ordered a taco plate and an enchilada plate and the food came out right away. The taco shells were perfect and had filling ingredients (full of chicken), the enchilada plate was full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. We went twice it was so good. I highly recommend bringing the family here for a fantastic experience at a small town restaurant. This will forever be a favorite restaurant of ours in Artesia and we cant wait to return in the future. Thank you to Alma, KC and the rest of the employees that were able to help the citizens of Ruidoso in our...
Read moreWe had higher expectations based on the reviews, but I can confidently say that we were disappointed by every aspect of our dining experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy, yet it took about 10 minutes to be seated because the staff was so slow (at least they were friendly). The restroom was so filthy I didn’t even want to put my purse down. The food came out quickly, but I would imagine it would because our drink and food orders were incorrect. If I wanted a pile of shredded lettuce, I could’ve just gotten a bag of it at Walmart for $2 instead of spending $10, and the chile relleno didn’t even have any cheese in it. Restaurants with complimentary chips and salsa is very nice, unless it tastes like vodka sauce with cilantro in it. The overall feel of the establishment is hometown glory, but I think I would have enjoyed it more...
