Jake's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Arvada

As a long time customer living in the area for a few years this has been a great go-to place until my experience tonight. The food and local vibe is a reason why my partner and I love this neighborhood bar. Tonight felt like an ordinary night mingling with another couple getting recommendations on the new specials, but once the bartenders switched shifts the experience and service changed. After ordering rounds of apps, meals and after the 1st round of drink requests the bartender who had angel wing back tattoos asked if we had an Uber otw. This was presumptuous as we were in the middle of our 2nd round of pool and the only ones at the bar all before 7pm. There was another bartender present who was not on the job and after consulting with her why we were basically being pushed to leave all she could say was that she “had to support her fellow bartender”. I couldn’t help, but feel discriminated against. It’s unfortunate to come to such a conclusion, but when you’ve only ordered 1 round of drinks, dinner, played pool, paid music- it’s hard to make out why they would welcome in other customers, but ask paying ones to basically leave. Without saying too much more it’s a discouraging day and we expected more from our neighborhood watering hole in Arvada because we’ve loved going there and recommended it to many of our friends and neighbors, but after this experience it’s difficult to determine if...

So my wife and I were attending a wedding in the area and had a good break between some of the scheduled events. We took the opportunity to stop in and have a quick cold one. Just about after we ordered our first drink the power goes out, for blocks! The staff huddled and figured they could still work with cash and allowed things to continue, business as usual. Soon the power came back on and I attempted to get some cash from the ATM. Just as the last part was supposed to be dispensed the power went out again! I looked down and the cash wasn't there. I was in a little bit of a pickle, had to leave soon to attend the wedding events but wanted my cash. A staff member was able to help me by fronting me the difference and allowing me to just come back should the money not come out once the power was returned. These guys are awesome! What customer service in a difficult situation. I recommend Jake's for any event since they are super fun and amazing at what they do. ...

Forever I drove by this location thinking it was just a biker bar and avoided it. Started coming to watch the Blue Grass playing on Wednesdays and occasionally go for random bands that play on Fridays. Their food is really great and I haven't had a bad meal here yet. I usually come for drinks and bar food but it's definitely a step up from normal bar food. I do wish they had a larger selection of beer, but I'm one of those craft IPA drinking people, so my opinion on the beer isn't too important. They got the drink's you'd want and the food is great. If I'm there and just want to drink I get any of their fries and they're always amazing. I prefer the waffle fries or Onion rings with my beer. If you want to have a good time, come around for the Wednesday Blue grass in the evening, I believe they start around 6pm-9pm.
