Update: STILL BOMB. We brought family that was from out of state here and they absolutely loved it. I got the combo: brisket with cornbread and coleslaw. Brisket was as good and tender as I remember. The cornbread was sweet and thick. The butter was a little sweet also so it went well with the cornbread. They give you plenty to eat! My mom and I got the macho nacho and my husband got the Bear attack. My nachos had kinda sweet Chili, Jalapeños, cheese, salsa and brisket. Oh man, the BRISKET was oh so tender to bite into and juicy. The bear attack was a sweet fluffy cornbread topped with creamy mac n cheese with that tender brisket. We got our kids Mac n cheese sides. For 7 of us it was under $50, can't even get that at fast food and this was WAY better!! And they have vegan options if you are looking for that! So good and I would definitely recommend!

So always like to go positive first. Atmosphere was super laid-back. Very rustic and dog friendly. Although rustic it was still clean. Small micro Brew attached in the same building is a definite plus. Some really nice beers to try. Flavor profile was good, pulled pork was seasoned well and the mac and cheese was actually quite enjoyable. For the downside. Someone in the kitchen needs to learn better how to pull pork and properly separate the fat. I know fat is your flavor but big gooey chunks of it are a definite turn off. This was our first visit, and we did not understand if it was order at counter only. Or if there was table service. When we asked the person behind the counter there was quite an attitude. I may return but honestly don't know for sure, I would like to try their brisket perhaps.

First of all, let me say this is a hard to find place just off the beaten path not far from Asheville so if you’re in from out of town, go give this place a try they won awards for their barbecue couple years in a row. Their big beans are the best I’ve ever had Incredible they’re cooked in the smoker with the drippings the ribs had a nice bark on them with excellent flavor. Too bad I couldn’t try the burnt ends. They were out of them. Must’ve been even better than the ribs. Whatever that is they know what they’re doing make sure you stop next-door to the brewery and get yourself some, excellent beer I had a red pale that was excellent. This place is worth the drive put some of the other barbecue on the back burner and make it go make your car go to this place.

Stopped there after the dentist for Moink Balls for the Super Bowl and 2 orders of the Mushroom Mac & Cheese smothered in brisket. Those two orders were 4 full meals. Opening in 2020, they are the newest BBQ kid on the block. I have done extensive research on all of the top AVL BBQ joints. Please refer to my other reviews. In the short time they've been around they have risen to the number 2 position for Q in the area. Original location is on Coxe Ave. Their creative Favorites are a mix of Q and sides all in one carton. Delicious! The Sweeten Creek location is in the Sweeten Creek Brewery, so if you like beer & Q it is very handy. The South Slope location is also surrounded by breweries. Their ribs and barbecue are fall- off-the-bone tender, almost as good as Moe's! Service is always friendly. It was nice to go in the Winter when there was no line. This is a must-go food stop if you are visiting AVL! I like that they are also environmentally friendly, using cardboard boxes instead of styro. Way to go folks!!! Keep doing it right! If u r downtown, the S. Slope location is central to...

So for starters I was visiting from out of town so it was kind of confusing to find/know it was located within the brewery. Got crowded quickly when trying to order food. That being said I would do it again. The service was good, quick and the food was delicious. The only thing I would pass on the next time would be the Mac and cheese. It was dry and really didn't have any flavor or cheese for that matter. The brisket, ribs and pulled pork đŸ‘đŸŒđŸ‘đŸŒother sides we ordered were baked beans and cooe slaw. They were good too. The baked potato (super spud)though it was good was definitely not worth $15. The menu says $13 but we got charged more and not because we got brisket, we got the pulled pork. Also, didn't think $5 was fair for 2 small pieces of cornbread but guess that is a sign of the times. Don't want to forget to mention the variety of sauces, which were also very tasty. Overall I definitely recommend this place. Burnt ends...

I wanted to like this place because of the reviews, but our meals were completely underwhelming. My husband and I ordered the 2 meat combos (both with brisket which is a $2 up charge each). The brisket was DRYYY!!! I’m used to Texas bbq that literally falls apart. I’ve never had such dry brisket. And it was cold! We had a pickup order but we only live a couple minutes away. By the time we got home, all of our meat was cold and honestly tasted like leftovers from the previous day. We also got the cornbread (which I was really excited about) but it literally smelled like dog’s breath. Not sure if it was due to the paper it was wrapped in or what, but it was unpleasant.. Oh and we ordered a side of Mac and cheese but didn’t get it. Safe to say, we won’t be coming back. But if anyone’s ever in the Houston area, DEFINITELY try Pit Room BBQ on Richmond Ave!! You’ll be so...
