I can understand now, after visiting J&S Cafeteria today in Asheville, why all the locations except two have closed down. There was a time when we would visit any J&S Cafeteria and they would always be packed. That's always a sure-fire way of knowing a restaurant has good quality food and service. That's not the way it is at J&S any longer. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated as if we were hindering them from being able to do what they wanted to do. The place had MAYBE 20 people in the dining area and its dinner time. The service behind the counter all had bad attitudes and the lady asked me if I wanted a salad and just because I didn't answer her within 25 seconds she said ma'am do you want a salad or not? There was s lady out on the floor you could tell was trying her best to do her job exceptionally well. She was working hard and had the sweetest disposition about her. She is an asset to a fading restaurant chain. We would've gotten her name but no badge. We live in Johnson City, TN. We have visited this location many many times for many many years. We have also looked forward to the opportunity and privilege if coming to your restaurant to eat. Not any more. We won't be back. We don't dine where our business is not...
Read moreI just read a story on Facebook about one of your servers named Dylan. It told how kind and patient he was with a 91 year old customer that was what seemed to be a very lonely man that day. Dylan made sure the ordering and food was just right for his customer. He not only took care of his food needs he also used his break time to spend with him and just let him talk and tell stories. I’m very impressed with the way he respected the old gentleman and wanted to let you know how wonderful it is to see the younger helping The older generation! You have a very fine young man there and he deserves to be recognized for his kindness! Congratulations to you for having a great employee. I hope one day I will be in your area and Will stop in to meet Dylan in person and Thank him . I hope yo have more like Dylan in your employee. Customer Service is at the very TOP of the list of importance for your type of business and I glad you are aware of it! Tell Dylan to keep up the good work and Thanks for a very kind heart. God is working through him in a very positive way. Thank you from deep in the heart of...
Read moreUpdate! July 34, 2024 The few hours and one meal that they do serve along with the always empty parking lot tells you this place has no desire to get back to where they once was. They had different locations, served Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. They had a full parking lot most of the day and meal times. Look at this pathetic hardy open status and let that message be heard. They do not want our business. Sadly the old friend is being miss managed out of business. It was a good run. I miss J&S!
This is a old friend that I am glad to see back. The food is comfort foodx100! The hours are not so friendly. I sure hope they bring back more than Lunch. I know in this market of employees it may be near impossible. But hope it is a goal. Update! July 9 2024 The hours here speak volumes about how bad the Management wants to feed and serve the community like they once did. This lunch only still. Tell me they careless about thriving like they once did. Sad just sad. I rarely catch their limited ...
