Library Lounge — Restaurant in Asheville

We had a happy hour and two wonderful dinners at the Library Lounge, Verandah, & the restaurant whilst staying at the Inn on Biltmore Estate.

After a long day touring the Mansion, Antler Village, and dodging torrential showers, we wandered down to the Library & peeked out onto the lovely verandah with upholstered rocking chairs and small tables. The rain had stopped so we sat down and just as we did, the sun came out! Seconds later a server appeared and asked if we would like anything. Of course! A bottle Biltmore Pinot Grigio & Pellegrino and a sumptuous cheese platter was summoned and we had a delightful and happy hour relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views. Later, as the evening was becoming a little chilly we asked that same attentive server if we could move inside. Of course! He switched our bill over to the Lounge, he gathered up our chilling bottle of Pinot, and led us to a reserved bay window table for dinner and continued his excellent service, too! (It was so special to us, not to be passed off onto another server!) A continuum of service perfection!

Weather permitting, having wine and cheese on the Library Verandah is a not to miss experience. We also enjoyed the French Onion Soup & the Caesar Salad!

Pro-Tip: Here's something that's good to know, if you bring in a bottle of any Biltmore wine to any of the restaurants on property they will serve it to you without a corkage fee. (Saves $$ - the Pinot is $13 a bottle in the winery shop but $30 something by the bottle at the restaurant - hope this hasn't changed - even a nominal corkage fee still is a great deal!) You can buy their wine at the winery shop only a few steps away from the Bistro and at the gift shop at the Inn.

We liked it so much staying here last spring, we're going back next week for Halloween weekend! Though we've made early dinner reservations at the fancy Dining Room, I'm sure we'll also stop by the Library in the lobby of the Inn, it was wonderful!

So many things to say about the elegance of eating at The Library Lounge at The Inn at Biltmore. Every time we stay at the Inn at Biltmore we have drinks and light fare in The Library. You’d think that because of the elegance you would have to get dressed up, but the opposite is true. We always sit in front of the fireplace or as close to it as possible. The wait staff is amazing. If you want a nice meal, great drinks and a relaxing time, try the Library Lounge. You won’t be disappointed. My husband and I stopped in for drinks before dinner . The atmosphere and our view was beautiful. Edixcio was so welcoming and engaging. He made us the most amazing cocktails.
