A cool place to pet some animals, see some chickens, and learn about the farm at the Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore estate is a tourist attraction in Asheville, NC. The estate includes a mansion, winery, stables, and a beautiful drive. Each of these is a treasure in its own right. The winery location is on the northwest corner of the estate. The area by the winery has several spaces to visit like the wine shop, winery, courtyard, hotel, and Farmyard. The farmyard is located right next to one of the main parking lots so getting there is easy and parking should not be a problem. It is well-marked with numerous signs near the entrance. There was the main entrance with open stalls on either side of a central courtyard. There was a staff member who was very friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had about the farm or the animals. There was a calf in a shaded spot in the center of the courtyard that you could pet. A stall to one side was full of several different varieties of chickens. It was dusty but fun and worth the visit.
