PennyCup Coffee Haw Creek — Restaurant in Asheville

If you identify as a conservative , a veteran, or a Christian then don't expect good service here. Their obvious BLM sign, rainbow signs are certainly their right. I had my Navy hoodie on with American flag. I was the only one sitting at the coffee bar. There were two table tops that had already been served. I never got acknowledge that I was even there. Two couples walked up to the bar and got waited on. Support whatever you want but don't pretend to be so accepting of everyone. You aren't and you suck. Yes I am voting for Trump this time. I unashamedly served this country and am unashamed of my faith in Christ. Editing review after the typical response from the owner: Sir or whatever you are, I sent you a message and never heard anything back. It was not a brief interaction. I sat at the bar for 20 minutes. Your barista simply refused to acknowledge me. Again, I was the only on at the bar and only two tables were occupied who had already been served. Others walked in who got served as I continued to get ignored. Typical woke Asheville response. You obviously support the staff person there who refused to acknowledge my presence there as a customer, hence the reason you don't see me or my staff...

I have visited Asheville several times. I love their store downtown, I believe on depot. This one is sterile. And I don't know if it's the plexiglass or what but the woman behind the counter seemed apathetic.. Also even though I was dining in she wanted to charge me full price for a refill. Seriously? There was like two people in the place and I wondered why my food was not out she finally said "your bagel has been sitting here on the counter." When I told her I didn't realize she said 'I called it out earlier". Well , when you're hardly busy at all maybe you could take note that I didn't even raise my head and called it out again? I won't go so far as to say she was unfriendly but it was not a good vibe. I would not go back to this location. On a positive note the Rosemary bagel with jalapeno cream cheese and tomato slice was delicious. coffee was just average. Edit. The hip hop music with non stop F bombs is not exactly my idea of morning music. never heard it in any other coffee shop and I have traveled and frequented ones...

This place was welcoming and the staff were nice. We went here for the GF/V options for my soon to be one year old who can’t have either. There were no more options left by 0840 am. So that was disappointing bc we base all our food decisions on things he can eat. Then after our order - they took other orders & surprisingly had them completed those orders before my drink order. So strangely out of four people I ordered for mine was the only drink to not come until they completed all these random orders first (even though they ordered after me).

They did accommodate just ordering egg for us which was nice.

I don’t feel like anything is over priced.

My husband thinks the service rated higher but I’m a stickler for order of service.
