I wanted to treat my sister to a spa day, so I booked us for the Mind/Body Exploration Package (90-minute Float + 75-minute EsalenĀ® Massage). The staff are lovely, welcoming when you arrive, and peacefully affirming throughout the experience. Their lounge has a soothing ambiance, and the aquarium is beautiful and mesmerizing.
We both received our massages before the float. The massages were both amazing! They were seriously in the top three of the best massages I've had in my entire life.
I was intrigued to experience the float because several people had recommended it when I shared about a transformative self-initiated float experience I had in nature three years ago. Before that experience, I had never heard about float labs and had no idea they existed!
The tank water felt cool at first but warmed up over time. It was an interesting experience, but the longer I was in the water, the more I noticed a tight, painful spot in my lower back. For me, 90 minutes was way too long. My sister and I were both done floating after 45 minutes to 1 hour, despite being booked for a 90 min float.
I didn't submerge my head, but after 45 minutes, my eyes started stinging and didn't feel better until I exited the tank. Perhaps I might do it again if I went in with a specific intention. Still, ultimately, I prefer the experience of floating under the sun's warmth in beautiful natural surroundings.
The float room has an icy, sterile feeling. Perhaps warmer lighting, plants, and washable floor rugs could improve that. The towels were limited, small, and scratchy. They supplied one bath towel, one hand towel, and a tiny, inadequate towel on the floor outside the tank. Even the bath towel felt too small. More luxurious towels (people with long hair likely prefer two bath-sized ones) and a more inviting environment might improve the float experience.
The staff asked for feedback at checkout and were friendly, receptive, and thoughtful during our exchange.
I canāt wait to return, but I will likely book a more extended massage next time and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA group of 8 women who have been friends for 35+ years chose Asheville this year for our annual get together. We chose this destination for many reasons, but we were specifically looking for a spiritual location with a reputable spa to incorporate a spa day into our time. Still Point Wellness had outstanding reviews and we were interested in the many options for relaxation that it offered; Float tanks, Esalen Massage, Meditation, etc. Drew was extremely helpful in helping to coordinate our large group. He made what (to me) seemed complex, very easy to schedule.
Upon arrival, we started with a didgeridoo meditation session with the owner, Corey Costanzo. WOW! This experience was on a whole other level! In addition to the didge, he played a number of relaxing instruments and spoke to us about the bond that we share, while helping us to escape every day life and relax. It was almost as if he'd known us for many years. WILD! I literally had tears of happiness flowing down my cheeks. It was beautiful!
We were then escorted to our float and massage appointments. The team at Still Point were all warm and friendly and extremely talented. I truly had one of the best massage experiences here. The entire facility is very clean and gorgeous! There's a beautiful fish tank in the middle of the lounge. What a great way to continue relaxing in between treatments with a cup of tea! If you've never floated in a sensory deprivation tank before, I highly recommend it. There truly are no words for the experience. By the time our group left for the day, we were all very happy and extremely relaxed. Thank You Corey and team for providing an amazing experience for my friends and I and helping us to create yet another...

The front desk staff was very kind and helpful, the ambiance of the place was great as well as the location. The salt water bath was also very nice and the room and the process for that was great. The price for the float was ok. A little high, but close enough.
I also received a massage here which I did not care for too much. The therapist seemed great and was very professional and communicative, but I do not like that style of massage. Itās a massage that uses longer soothing strokes with very light pressure. Before the massage I told the therapist two things: 1. I have a shoulder issue that needs a lot of attention That I love hard pressure, that I was a ābig fanā She did explain then the style of massage it was, but that she would apply deeper pressure. She also said we could shift gears and do a deep pressure massage if that didnāt cut it for an additional charge. The first 20 minutes of the massage was a waste of time, and we did switch to deep tissue, which was almost enough pressure for me..... but it cost an additional $25 dollars. Really didnāt care for that, especially when no one told me this style was used before hand and the first 20 minutes of that massage was a waste.
Not everyone likes hard pressure.... there are probably several people who prefer this style of massage. I recommend that they communicate this to every client before they make an appointment.
Pricing is also an issue for me. There should be a small reduction for longer session or for doing multiple services in one day. It was fairly...
