My husband and I are frequent GrubHub patrons of Pasquale’s. Typically our orders go off without a hitch, but tonight was so exceptionally horrible, on our wedding anniversary no less, that I feel compelled to leave a review detailing the ordeal. First, the order was late. I can live with this as long as the food arrives correctly and still at a decent temperature. That was not the case. My husband’s order was fine. Mine, however, was missing the entire pasta dish. We noticed the issue as soon as we opened the bag, but by the time I ran outside, the driver was gone. As usual, GrubHub customer service was also terrible. So, while my husband was chatting with them on his phone, I spent my time trying to call the restaurant. Half an hour and multiple disconnected calls later, it still seemed like there was literally no one there to talk to. How do you have someone physically there to make orders, but no one will answer the phone? I have worked retail and service before, and the phone ringing is one of the most annoying sounds I personally feel like I hear throughout the day. So I couldn’t imagine listening to it for 15+ minutes before the line cut just trying to ignore someone. And what if someone were trying to place a new order over the phone? It seems like you literally don’t want business. We certainly will not be back following this experience. I hope whoever does still decide to order from this place enjoys having their food...
Read moreDespite having lived in Pittsburgh my entire life and frequenting many of the businesses in the Aspinwall/Fox Chapel area, I'd never tried Pasquale's. On a visit last week for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, my brother-in-law and I decided to order delivery from them.
We both ordered calzones, each stuffed slightly different (including meatballs, pepperoni, green pepper, spicy sausage). The order arrived about 20 minutes past the delivery window but I've grown accustomed to that in Pittsburgh where geography and traffic are a bit more unique than many other cities.
The calzones were HUGE. Unfortunately, the taste was not. This was probably the first time in my life where an Italian restaurant didn't know how to season a calzone. The ricotta, typically with some "body", was running and tasteless. More surprising is that the meatballs and pepperoni had no taste either. Though, perhaps, a regional difference, I'm accustomed to calzones being accompanied by marinara sauce which was sorely missed in this instance as it would have (hopefully) had some taste.
Looking at other reviews, their pizza seems to be enjoyed by many people. Maybe I'll try a...
Read moreWe have been ordering from Pasquales Aspinwall location for years, without issue until today. I ordered an xl Buffalo chicken pizza without onions or green peppers, among $50.00 of other items. The call taker read the order back to me “no onions and green peppers”. When the pizza arrives, I immediately called the Aspinwall location to notify them of the mix up, explaining that my son has an onion allergy. The woman was very nice and said she would remake the pizza and sent it out as quickly as possible. A few minutes later, Charlie from the Aspinwall location, called me back refusing to remake the pizza because he “went over it 3 times. I’m not making you another one”. I know that the pizza comes with those items and my son as an onion allergy that’s why I know I specified “no onions or green peppers”. He was very rude and I cannot believe the lack of customer service Charlie displayed during this call. I am appalled he even called me back with such a negative and rude response.
I will NOT be ordering...
