Azteca Taqueria & Pupuseria — Restaurant in Atascadero

Super tasty spot. we got a couple items to go on the way home from the store. Calling in was real simple and the friendly stuff encouraged me to have some chips and salsa while I waited the last couple minutes for the order. It's bright, spacious and clean inside for anyone looking to dine in.

My king burrito with carnitas was huge and exactly what I hoped for. Bunch of rice, flavorful beans, all brought together with the rich shredded pork and a healthy sprinkling of pico. With the green salsa poured on top of bites it was perfect.

The papusas had a great texture even after 10 minutes on the road. A little crisp on the outside with a mild chew, and hearty filling. Bean and cheese and Asada and cheese were fire.

All that food for like 30 bucks! if you wanted a cheap meal you could get a papusa and a drink for under $10 and feel satisfied, not to mention the daily deals we'll be back for (Chile relleno Friday). Go...

Most amazing food! Everything is fresh and so, so good. This is absolutely the best Mexican food on the central coast, and the addition of Guatemalan menu items makes for a more expansive and interesting menu than anywhere else. Their homemade tortillas are amazing, and if I could decide what I liked best from their menu, I’d say, but everything my family has had from here is wonderful. Also, the prices and service are great. The family that owns and runs Azteca Market is kind and it is such a comfortable, happy place to be. My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight, but it will definitely not be our last! The food was excellent! So impressed! Ordered the Choripapas plate, aka chorizo and potatoes with rice and beans, came with three handmade flour tortillas, also ordered a single quesabirria taco (came with consume), a bean and cheese pupusa (came with a sauce on the side), and two homemade corn tortilla tacos, one asada and one carnitas.
