Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Atascadero

I love the Habit in San Luis Obispo. Sadly I have had two back-to-back bad experiences at the Atascadero location. First- ordered in and tried the fried chicken sandwich. Two bites in I felt a foreign object between my chompers and panicked that it was metal or something..it was a piece of plastic about the size of a eraser head. I informed the cashier and she informed the manager. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no thank you, I lost my appetite. A few minutes later she came back with 3 tickets for a free charburger with cheese. A whopping $12 value. They didn't refund me the $8 for the fried chicken sandwich, so they got away giving me $4 credit. Mmmm. My bad I guess I should have been a raving lunatic and threatened to sue. So today after a long day, decided to use 2 tickets for lunch. Went thru the drive thru and the car ahead of me at the pickup window was waiting for 10 minutes for their order. Finally I get my order and head home which is about 7 minutes. Open my bag of goods and holy moly the food is cold! Not a shred of heat left. So I surmise those burgers we're done and sitting for awhile before I got them at the window. I'm over Atascadero Habit. I will visit SLO again but for me, it's IN AND OUT! Never had a bad or cold burger there. Proceed with caution...

Habit is Habit Forming! The Habit Grill just opened in our city of Atascadero, and we are so happy it did! The food outstanding, something for everyone! Beef, chicken, ahi, superfood salads and more! Whether your peeps are meat lovers, vegan, or maybe something in between there is something for everyone, every age too! The new staff is first class, so helpful, upbeat, and kind. If you weren't in a good mood when you went in, you sure will be when you leave! The delicious food, refreshing (large selection) drinks, and the amazing staff will lift your spirits and brighten your day. Extra shouts for "Mac" the cashier inside and "Lilly" at the drive-thru, for their smiles, politeness, warmth and friendliness. They have indepth knowledge of the menu, and so happy to help. Habit hits a hits a Home Run!

Big bang for your buck, fast and accurate service, clean and very nice atmosphere. So new to our area presently, and already an On-Point, well oiled machine! Touchdown, Habit!

When this location first opened, I was super excited as I hadn’t yet had a chance to try The Habit Burger.

I’ve since been there at least 5 times and unfortunately am not very impressed. They have a great menu, decent prices, and their food generally tastes good, but whenever my family has had their beef burgers, we always end up feeling a bit off an hour or two later.

Their other sandwiches are quite good, and while their fries are mediocre, the fried asparagus is incredible. I would also recommend their milkshakes if you’re looking for a good place to get one.

In addition to the mixed experiences with the food, I’ve only ever seen longer than desired wait times for drive through regardless of how busy, and they’ve gotten our order wrong on two of the five visits.
