UPDATE - It was so good I got my spouse to go with me soon after my first visit. He had an original waffle sandwich and agreed with me on how good the food was.

He did have one criticism. He had a cold brew coffee with caramel, and while the sweetness was perfect -- not too sweet but sweet enough -- he was disappointed with the coffee strength. He felt it was rather weak.

I'll continue to visit though, and plan on bringing other people to try it.

-----------original visit------- First of all, you just have to come try it. I was expecting "fast food" and I got a great meal quickly.

I had the basic Chicken + Waffles with orange juice. The chicken was perfect. I'm hard pressed to think of ANY fried chicken I've had anywhere that I like better. I have to think back to my college days in Texas. The chicken didn't look like anything out of the ordinary, but it was perfectly crispy, and perfectly moist, tender, and fully cooked.

The waffle was crisp and light as a Belgian waffle should be. I love a waffle that is so well made that you can enjoy it before you even put any maple syrup on it. Usually I DRENCH waffles in syrup because that's the only way to make them really taste good. This waffle was so good on it's own with a slight dusting of confectioner's sugar, that I only used about a 1/3 of the tiny bottle of maple syrup that they give you. Normally I pour it on.

I came between 10 and 11 am. I had bright sun from the windows, a great view, not much of a crowd, and not too hot of walk back to campus.

TBH I mourned the loss of Etienne in this restaurant spot, and I wasn't expecting to like a chicken and waffle place so much, but I'm definitely won over.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my frustration and concern regarding a recent experience I had at your Athens, GA location.

On June 2, I placed an online order at 11:57 AM, which indicated that my food would be ready for pickup at 12:06 PM. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, I was informed by the cashier that my order was not ready and would take an additional 25 minutes due to six orders being placed ahead of mine. This delay was extremely inconvenient as I had specifically ordered online to ensure my food would be ready in time for my lunch break.

When I expressed my concern about the delay, asking the cashier how long he thought people’s breaks typically are, he responded inappropriately, stating that it depends on the job and mentioned he is a mortician, so he gets an hour. This response was unprofessional and dismissive of my situation.

Furthermore, I was deeply disturbed by the cashier's behavior. He was scratching his hand non-stop, and upon closer observation, I noticed he had a visible cut with blood. Despite this, he continued to touch various items without any apparent concern for hygiene or safety. This raises serious concerns about food safety and cleanliness standards at your establishment.

I believe it is crucial to bring these issues to your attention to prevent such incidents from recurring. I have always enjoyed dining at Bruxie, but this experience has left me questioning the quality and safety of the service.

First time I ever rated something as I never enjoyed a chicken sandwich as much as the Nashville chicken waffle sandwich. Packed with spice and flavor with the nice crispy yet absorbent waffle that holds the fresh veggies and spicy/sweet pickles together into the perfect sandwich in each bite. The instant I bit into the sandwich I had to write a review. The sandwich came with some kind of ranch sauce that was spicy and hints of mustard. I personally did not like it as I usually don’t like ranch, but I can see how it pairs with the sandwich. The spice tots were everything you wanted as a kid. So crunchy and crispy with a soft inside with a quick but sudden burst of heat and flavor. Had some tots leftover for about 2 hours and amazingly they kept their crispy texture. Staff was very kind and welcoming. Multiple staff members came to check up on us and update us about our food which was assuring. We waited about 10 mins for them to make our food and they kept apologizing for the food being late? Take your time, the food was amazing! I was even offered complementary custard for the wait which enhanced my first time experience. The frozen custard is very thick, fatty and creamy and would be wonderful as a summer time treat.
