Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Athens

This was the first time I have ever had problems.. waitress was horrible.. she came to the table multiple times and couldn’t remember anything. Asked for lemons 4 times for drinks and eventually got them. They also ran out of sour cream for the potatoes but it was only 1pm so I’m not sure how that happened. I ordered off the lunch menu and was supposed to have my food out in 12 minutes and it took 30 minutes. the manager told me I had to ask for my food to come out in 12 minutes when it’s a big crowd or they won’t bring it out (which i have never had to do) but the big sign out front clearly states if it’s not out in 12 minutes it’s free. So that was one meal for free... next we asked for a beer to come out wit the meal not before.. and of course the beer comes out 10 minutes before the meal because she forgot I guess. Macaroni and cheese had noodles and shredded cheese!! So after we pay for our food my brother in law realizes his card is not there and i go to figure out y and the actual manager has dropped it in someone else’s car when he went out to do the carside pick up and not once did anyone come tell us. 2 managers and our waitress knew but didn’t say anything until we asked.. the manager asked if we wanted them to bring the card back still since he would call and get another card anyways, well y tf not!? he lied and said the people were coming back but he hadn’t even talked to the guy, we watched him make the call to ask if the card was even In the car and then asked them to please bring it back.. so now another ticket was free.. oh and now he also had to call and and get another credit card.. we went to celebrate a birthday and after everything got messed up we didn’t even ask for them to sing happy birthday to my sis.....

Truly disappointing. We had not been there in several years, so we thought we would give them a try. Big mistake! First was our server. Young, cute, poorly trained. The menu was misleading. Looking at the beverage list you are offered Angry Orchard hard cider, it looked like a 20 ounce pour. That would be a draft beverage. I love it, so I ordered a 20 ounce cider. She comes back, telling me it's only in the bottle. That's disappointing. So I ask what beers they do have on draft. She explains she's "new", so she doesn't know. Craning her head around, she names two taps she can see, and names those, and then stands there. No sense whatsoever. No going to look, no going to make a list, no doing what modern young people would do, taking a picture with her phone. After waiting to see if she figured this out, I ordered tea. Okay, moving forward. Appetizer of chips and queso. Queso is okay, not really warm. Chips are literally rancid tasting. Crisp, overly salted, and rancid. Move forward. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger, husband orders chicken breast. He won. My burger, ordered rare, was small, overcooked, but worse, the kitchen literally burned the sautéed onions and mushrooms. Bitter and black. I scraped the cheese, the meat patty, and the top bun off and ate those. The bottom bun looked like it had been buttered with road tar. Nasty. My fries were warm and tough, not fresh. The coup de grace. One small burger, fries, one chicken breast with broccoli and mashed potatoes, two teas, some rancid chips, and a smattering of queso. FIFTY DOLLARS WITHOUT TIP! With a new Chili's in town that has excellent service and several other new venues, Applebee's had better up their game or shut...

Three times in a row my family really have been there and it is really sad to say this about this restaurant especially the one in my hometown of Canton Texas USA the worker and the manager were very good awesome if to say of course they had to give us a discount on our food for the fact we were not satisfied that is very much in need of improving the restroom was clean I'm watching far tell on the men's not sure about not sure about the women's because well frankly I'm not allowed to go in there and I forgot to ask the ladies that were in my party what there experience in the restroom was like the alcoholic beverages were made to week although we understand restaurant quality-wise you can't make them too strong but even for that standard I believe they were not strong enough none of our plates were cooked properly they were either overcooked or undercuts or frankly cold and on one of the plates they forgot to mention a side and on the other day totally forgot to side and then chicken and pasta meal I had the chicken was overcooked to where it was too hard but then got cold quickly as we all experienced that on everyone with me and on the all you can eat shrimp 3 or 6 but seems not quite like a lot but that you should probably get well 8 or 10 per plate however I do like the idea of all-you-can-eat returning plates of shrimp for a limited time that is something you should continue to do it's kind of nice to know that Red Lobster is not the only place doing that a more affordable place is however you are very much in need of improving both in Tyler and Canton Texas might I recommend taking some advice from the Terrell Texas location January 2019.
