We went on a Sunday evening, got there at 7 and the place was EMPTY, we were the ONLY people there, but we waited for about 10 minutes before anyone came up to the front to seat us. It was just my boyfriend and I, and we both have been going there for YEARS, however this was definitely not the same place we were used to. We ordered our drinks before sitting down, and usually the drinks are there by the time you get back with your food. However only my tea was brought out, and my boyfriend’s Dr. Pepper didn’t get brought out until we had already finished our food. The food was all very dry, EXCEPT the General Tso’s Chicken. I had gotten some sushi, which was perfectly fine. The honey chicken had barely anything on it and the texture felt like it had been left out for awhile. The rice noodles were extremely rubbery, and kinda blackened almost (which I’ve never seen before.) The Rangoon's were extremely small and had barely any meat or filling inside. The sweet&sour chicken was all very thin and also rubbery, which isn’t normal. Egg rolls tasted burnt. Most of the food tray that were at the buffet seemed very low. The corn nuggets were also dry, as if the inside had just been forgotten. I tried to see if it was just the ones I got, so I grabbed more because they are genuinely my favorite things there but it was like they just fried the corn and didn’t put any of the cream part in (which also isn’t normal.) I usually get green beans also but there were a total of 6 beans in the pan both times I went up there. I wish I could have gotten some pictures to prove this, but honestly I was so disappointed with all of this. Whoever the new management is has allowed the quality of food and service to go down DRASTICALLY. It was still a very clean restaurant, but the food was NOT worth $37 for 2 people, in a place that was empty. The lady who was working the counter was sitting down on her phone, and we never got our check when we were done, we waited for 15 minutes after we finished eating before we just went to the desk. When we went up there, there was man who had been sitting there for some time, he had a to go order, and we stood there and waited for her to acknowledge us, but I had to get her attention and she then got up and handed the man his food, that had been sitting on the counter beside her, which makes me think that man got cold food, but I can’t say. Needless to say, this place has gone downhill fast. And charging nearly $40 for 2 people to serve themselves, not even getting one of their drinks until after the meal, and the meals being TERRIBLE, is not the same place it used to be. It’s...
Read moreCame here last night with my family for dinner. When we arrived, parking was plentiful but the lot was so dirty- trash everywhere. That’s not necessarily their fault so we carried on. Upon entering, they asked how many and seated us. There was only one other family there. The carpet looks as if it had not been cleaned in decades but everything else was clean. While there was a lot of selection, most things only had a little bit left and looked like they had been sitting out for far too long. After tasting the food, it was confirmed that was likely the case. My egg rolls were stale and cold. Noodles were salty and chewy. Fried rice was fine. I had some kind of shrimp with sauce and that was probably the best thing I had but it was still a little crusty. Sushi was ok but there wasn’t much of a selection. For the deserts I figured no way could they mess up jello but boy was I mistaken. I don’t even know what flavor the green one was supposed to be but it was awful. The mango one was delish though. They had little cakes and those were stale. Overall the food was lacking. My son barely ate anything and he didn’t like most of what he tried. Same with myself. My daughter ate like one cookie and a few fries. Total for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) was $62 and change. They also had a sign saying you may be charged for any food you do not eat but I sure hope not considering a lot of it was not good. I’m not sure if they did because my husband paid and I didn’t look at the receipt.
I would like to visit again and see if last night was just a dud but we will see. The only great thing I can say about the restaurant right now is that the staff was super nice and attentive. They were great with the kids and we...
Read moreI've frequented this restaurant for 13 + years. Since I have lived in East Texas. Last night I took my daughter in law and grandson out for dinner. My grandson and I ate the buffet. My daughter in law opted for a glass of water since she had eaten before we arrived. When we went to pay for the meal, the young lady that was the hostess/cashier charged us for three buffets. I informed her that only two buffets had been eaten, and to take off the third charge. She went on to tell me (with a matter of fact attitude) that I should have informed them beforehand that only two buffets were to be eaten, and still refused to take off the third charge. Her explanation was that "the waitstaff does not pay attention to who is eating or not." ( so that means her waitstaff are too ignorant or lazy to do their job?) That when greeted by the hostess and asked the question "how many?" I assumed, as I would think most would, that means how many to BE seated in your party. Apparently there is a new meaning to the question "How many?" it has changed to, how many heads to CHARGE, for JUST being seated. I'm also assuming this young lady is the manager since she had all the answers, and made the decision to charge me anyway. If that is the case there should be a posted sign before you enter the dining area. "You will be charged just for being seated" I do have to admit I had some 'salty' things to say about her decision to charge me. It was returned in kind. Needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment. The food was hot, and dining room appeared clean. The waitstaff are very attentive as they have always been. I hope this review helps you in keeping your hard earned money in...
