Small's Drive In — Restaurant in Athens

Every time I go to Small's, I get the same thing... A cajun hamburger with either fries or onion rings.

I can't speak of other menu items as I haven't had them, but the burgers are the best in this county. Possibly the best in the surrounding counties as well. They are fairly priced and have huge burgers. I really don't know how they can afford to keep making them. Even though I can't speak for the other menu items, they are so busy that I can't imagine anything they make being bad or even below average.

They are not open every day of the week and have a bit of an odd schedule, but I completely understand that. Everyone has other things to deal with. The days that they are open, they are slammed with business. I would recommend calling your order in if you don't want to wait. If you like hanging out, eating in is an option. If you're like me, you get the car hop and listen to podcasts/music while you wait.

The people who work there and own the restaurant are excellent people. They are friendly and offer excellent service.

If I could give Small's more than 5...

Love this place. My favorite spot since moving to Tennessee. Its awards of “best of the best” definitely meets the quality of the food and the excellent service of the staff.

This spot reminds me of those family-owned, hole-in-the-wall, strip mall burger joints that have fresh made burgers and fries back in CA - absolutely my favorite places to eat.

Burgers have lots of burger meat. Jalapeño burger has just the right amount of kick. The chili, slaw foot long hotdog is massive and delicious. Great shakes. Love the sweet tea. I haven’t tried everything at this spot, but I look forward to trying.

You can eat inside or order from your car - staff will come out and take your order from your car window. When they say drive-in, they mean drive-in.

Also, prices are awesome. Got two jalapeño burgers, corn dog, and a shake for $17.

We drive from Riceville to here and it’s worth the 12 min drive for us. It’s almost a weekly...

The restaurant has very good food but the owners and the other staff are very rude and disrespectful towards their own employees you don't look your employees in the eye and smile like everything is fine and you go behind your employees back and you talk about your employees like they are scum or trash especially when the employees have worked every single day and even worked lots of hours that they weren't paid for employees paychecks are always being shorted for some ungodly reason that the owners come up with the waitresses don't receive their tips like they're supposed to every tip gets collected and put in a jar and supposedly split up evenly between the waitresses the owners determine which waitresses receive the most tips and who receives the least all in all its very poor management and very...
