The Pub Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Athens

The bartender we initially got for drinks was amazing. She was super friendly and fun, creating us one of her own drink creations which was yummy. The atmosphere was quaint with a down home neighborly feel. The other guest we sat next to were all welcoming locals that added to a nice experience. The food order was when that nice experience came to an end. Many of the items we wanted weren't available which was understandable after a busy holiday weekend. However the disappointment was the extremely long time it took for our food order when there weren't many customers. When we finally got our order it was not correct, we asked the bartender who said they were out of what we order so gave us something we didn't order instead of asking us what we wanted. I felt really bad for the couple next to us who were given menus and told in their 1st attempt ordering that they were out of that selection, then when finally placed their order was told the kitchen was closed with no warning the kitchen was closing

I stopped in because the food used to be good it wasn’t bad it was OK this time but I didn’t appreciate the service of the Bartender. I asked her to add an extra patty after I ordered my burger because I said it’s only a 4 ounce burger. She said we’re really busy and seemed frustrated and said I don’t know if they already started it and acted like she didn’t have time to go back there. Then she went back to the kitchen there to relay other orders but didn’t even ask if they can add another burger to my sandwich. She was acting so frustrated that another bartender asked if she was OK. I just don’t appreciate the service that I was provided I drunk my beer and when my food was brought to me I just left. I won’t be coming back there...

My wife went to school at Ohio University... and we were in town with 5 other friends for four days enjoying the local roads (on our motorcycles) and enjoying the town every afternoon and evening.

A very welcoming local bar with great bartenders and great drink choices at great prices. We visited several times over the four days we were there. One visit we just had drinks. The next visit we ate lunch (GREAT burgers!!) and the next visit was so my wife could get beer cheese soup (one of her favorite food memories from college).
