Lulu's on the Alameda — Restaurant in Atherton

My family and I we were impressed by the good vibes here. First thing manager greet us as soonest we walk in,menus are easy to read by categories. The staff looks so professional they all uniform and clean the girls behind the counter made our food with really good hygiene wearing gloves and the kitchen look really clean which give us the comfort to enjoy our food. If you want to know if a place has high hygiene protocols you can tell right away by checking the restroom and this restroom was super clean. The beautiful lady who prepare our food also brought our dishes to our table. While we were eating the manager was asking if we were ok and if we need anything else. This place is awesome, music songs were great and appropriate for everyone the volume was excellent you can have a conversation and enjoy the music. Restaurant was really clean,tables were taking care as soon people leave. Lulu's is really on top of Mexican taquerias because of the high standards of family environment they implemented here. I've gone to Lulu's for years, but I've decided to disengage. 1st, they used to have a cold water dispenser, but they got rid of it. Now, u need to ask for water, and u get a nasty look, and they give u tap water with no ice. I'm sure they stopped providing cold water so folks would buy beverages. 2nd, they do not provide chips and salsa for free, they charge u for it. A lot of mexican restaurants provide chips for free. And lastly, and this is the reason I stopped going, they no longer give u the option of a half chopped salad. A half salad is way enough for one person. I just think their food is not good value, it is quite expensive. There are other mexican restaurants close by with better quality food at a lower price. I had gone a Sunday night for a take-out but decided last minute to have it in the restaurant because they were pretty empty. For about 20-30 minutes, they didn't have a lot of people. Then they got really busy with take-outs and mobile orders. The gentleman that took my order was really nice. The dining area is fairly clean. The bathroom could be a little cleaner, but from what I could tell they were maybe busy before I got there.

They had a decent portion size. The food was decent; it had good flavor. It was good, but it wasn't that memorable. I had the Carnitas Plate (this is the dish I get at every Mexican restaurant I first try). I did like the chips they had; the portion was a little lacking on the chips. it was still good though.
