Doc Chey’s on Memorial Dr. is by far my favorite lunch location in the whole city. Why, you may ask? The modern, Asian style restaurant has some of the best, affordable Chinese food the area has to offer. Almost everyday I indulge in Doc Chey’s delicious Stir Fry and for the the price you get way more than what you ask for. With hefty portions and excellent chefs in the back, I guarantee, you will not be disappointed with any meal selection. Not only that, I am always greeted with a smile by the friendly Doc Chey’s crew!
I work in the area and I told the employees my name probably twice when I first started coming there and by the third or Forth time, they remembered my order and my name! I always get my order to go but dining in is also a great experience as well! You order at the register and then go can sit wherever you like. The servers will bring your warm meal out to you at record speeds, I’m not joking. Also they take orders over the phone, and online options as well.
Look for Listya, who is always pleasant to see at the register. She always keeps the line moving and makes sure you get what you asked for. Then there’s Paul, who is a speedy fast server. He’s always polite, makes sure the place is spotless. Then one of my favorites is Lauren. I don’t know if she is a manager but she does an amazing job (she should be). They all have great customer service skills but Lauren always go over and beyond for all of her customers. She fast, patient, and very intuitive! All of the crew is amazing doesn’t matter who is there!
Once again, the entire team at Doc Chey’s is great at what they do lunch and Dinner. I highly recommend eating here! The food is amazing, just go see...
Read moreThis is the worst rendition of Asian style food I've ever had. I've had terrible realistic Chinese and Thai, and I've had great American modification of both cuisines, and this is neither. The food is not only made with the wrong ingredients, but poorly done and flavorless. And let's talk about some of the problems: first of all, if I'm taking food to go you DO NOT pile the rice on top of the food! Put it in a separate box, please. What if we're sharing and not everyone wants rice? What's with all the salt? The Thai Chicken Coconut soup had chicken and coconut, but it wasn't Thai, was quite flavorless, and it seems instead of chili peppers they're using red bell peppers. I think maybe the cook (there's clearly no chef) just saw "peppers" and being 17 years old just didn't know any better. The "Korean" "tacos" we're made with the wrong cut of beef, the sauce was Chinese, not Korean in the least--lacking ANY of the sugar involved in Bul Go Gi--and was VERY salty. And to top it all off they used huge soft FLOUR tortillas. If I wanted burritos I'd order them. I'd think in the land of grits it wouldn't be so difficult to get a decent corn tortilla (they're made from the same thing).
I will NEVER return to this travesty of an unattached mall food...
Read moreImportant note: they DO NOT ACCEPT CASH! I admit it, I am old, but this is the first restaurant that I have ever been to in my entire life that does not accept cash.
I actually like the food, and in the "old days" when they accepted cash, we used to eat there regularly. I can't say the service is bad, because there is no service. You place your order at a register, (a non-cash register) seat yourself, get your own silverware, get your own drinks, and wait for your food to arrive. They do bring the food to you.
You pay up front, and the device asks you how much tip you want to give before you have any idea about the service or food quality. At this point, I chose No Tip, figuring I could tip the waiter later. Well....since I pretty much had to do everything myself, I declined to tip. I can't currently walk very well, and doing everything myself was difficult.
The food was good, but a bit pricey....isn't everything these days. I felt guilty about not tipping, but for the prices I felt there should be some sort of service.
They seem to be more concerned with Door Dash, Uber, etc and they make things easier for them than the...
