JJ's Rib Shack — Restaurant in Atlanta

I had a visit on 7/3/25, arrived at 10:45, doors didn't open until 12pm. I was about #10 in line, as I was entering, it was announced chicken was sold out. I said how could that be possible, you haven't taken any orders. So, I sat waiting until 3:45, but I was late for work. So the female in the front had already placed my order for chicken for the 4th which is the next day. I left and came back the next day, I arrived at 8:45, there was one car there before me and we lined up in that order, the 1st person got her order in 10 maybe 15 mins. I sat there until almost 4pm, still no order. During that time, I was seeing orders being placed in the rear of restaurant for higher price, for example, 1 customer told me his order was $90 but he can get his order for $180, and so made a deal with the owner and didn't have to wait, and the male left with his order. There was several transactions that took place in that same manner that day. Disregarding the other customers time and money. I think they should be audited and shut down. They inconvenienced people, the manager refused to come out and face customers, no apologies, the employees had a very bad attitude, and was very rude. You had customers upset, but then act as if we was the problem after most of us was there for 2 days and still didn't get served. I am not just going to stop here. I will not be satisfied until they understand you can't mistreat people and prosper. God don't like ugly. They will get just what...

I only gave 1 star bc we couldn't rate any lower but this place is HORRIBLE!!! The customer service is very POOR!! The guy who takes your order tells you the wait is 30 min (which is a lie) and every time you ask how long on your food he really doesn't give you a clear answer! He doesn't smile, nor does he show concern! The only nice person in that restaurant is the older lady who helps with the orders. She is very sweet & actually goes to the back to check on your food. We were at this restaurant almost 2 & 1/2 hours waiting on our food. When we got home and opened the box with the ribs, they were extremely DRY!!! We purposely got the sauce put on the side just so we could taste the meat to see if it had any flavor, IT WAS BLAND!! There presentation was HORRIFIC! I'm unsure what they use to chop the meat up, but they need to reinvest in other restaurant cutting material!! The sauce was ok & the baked beans tasted like some nasty beans that just came out of a can. The owner needs to take a look at these reviews & possibly make some changes. If you know the weekends are your busiest days, why not wake up a little earlier to prepare your food so your customers won't wait so long & also ensure u won't run out! I will NEVER go back & I refuse to recommend anyone to go here! Oh yea u have to sit there inside the restaurant bc they will do a ticket role call & if u aren't present when your # is called, they push your ticket to the back!!! And NO CALL IN ORDERS...

This place is awful. Yeah, the ribs are good, because there was only that one time years ago that I was able to try their rib tips (being funny). Attempts to try them again were abandoned after having to wait 2+ hours. I refuse to give this place a dime.

It's so hood, there are always hundreds of people in the back of the store, the service is awful, and they are always running out of stuff (ribs, yams, wings, you name it)! I'm sorry, but a $10 rib dinner just ain't worth it.

Also, what's with the waiting area??? You move to a new location (directly next door lol) with more space, but neglect to setup tables and chairs. If your average wait is 2+ hours, at least make it somewhat convenient for your patrons to wait! Or better yet, how about you reduce the wait time, stay stocked up on menu items, clean the place up, get rid of the "crowd" in the back and try to exercise some level of customer service!

I left the day I tried to get food from this place (after waiting 2.5 hours) and went to Jim N Nicks. I was in and out in 15 minutes, the service was amazing, and my food was deee-licious!

Do your self a favor and take your hard earned cash elsewhere 'cause the individuals who own and run JJ's Ribshack do not value you, your money,...
