A friend drove 1 hour for us to try this restaurant for the first time - we tried to be thoughtful and make a reservation for well before the busy dinner hour - we were given an awful side table (not even a full dinner table) that only had bartender service - apparently the restaurant had 100 reservations for the evening - but as we observed, other than 2 groups, the place was relatively dead for the night so it was unclear the rationale for our seating except some combination of bad service, bad prioritization, inexperience, and implicit bias - it was also clear that the bartenders assigned to deal with our food service were not familiar with the food menu - the evening otherwise started out decently well, we ordered 2 appetizers with our beverages - the meatballs were good, the artichoke dip tasted sour and seemed on the verge of spoiling but we let it slide - my friend and I ordered entrees at the same time, but mine came out first and it was evident someone had forgotten to put my friend's order in or had otherwise messed it up - we were told the kitchen was backed up but we could literally see what was happening in the kitchen and it was clearly not backed up since the restaurant was pretty dead -while we waited, I asked for a steak knife for the steak I ordered and a dude in a white outfit brought me a sharp butter knife - I was sure this wasn't the right utensil for my steak but gave it a go nonetheless - a few minutes later, as the bartender turned server brought my friend her side salad, I asked for a real steak knife - the person that brought me the replacement apologized sincerely because what I was previously provided was absolutely not a steak knife - 30 minutes later, as we awkwardly waited, my friend's entree came out and it was not as described on the menu - when she checked with the bartender playing server, that individual had to go check the menu and then did indeed confirm that what was on my friend's plate was not what was described on the menu - she made up a few CYA stories about why it was not as ordered - my friend ended up sending the entree back and just cancelling her food order -- the bartender turned server was also not able to provide any alternatives nor did she seem interested in doing so. What a complete let down. I ended up getting a box for my food since it would be awkward and inappropriate to eat alone. I was so excited about trying a new place with easy access off 75 to meet friends visiting the city and am left being utterly disappointed. Between bartenders playing server, dudes in white chef's clothing playing host and server, and food options listed on the menu not being available early in the dinner time frame, this place really needs to shut down and get its act together before putting itself back on the market -- especially for the prices listed -- at the moment, this is a decent place for cocktails but nothing more. We still tipped well because of the human element. This beautiful location deserves something better...
Read moreOn my recent visit to Park 82, I was eager to sample the diverse offerings that this chic establishment has become known for. While my overall experience was good, it fell short of being truly memorable. Here’s a breakdown of the highlights and where there’s room for improvement.
The tuna tartar was a refreshing start to the meal. The fish was undeniably fresh, with a silky texture that melted in my mouth. The dish was well-complemented by the avocado and citrus elements, which added a delightful brightness. However, the seasoning was a tad underwhelming. A touch more zest or spice could have elevated the flavors significantly.
The oysters were another solid offering. Served chilled with a classic mignonette and a dash of lemon, they were briny and fresh. Each oyster had a clean, oceanic taste that seafood lovers would appreciate. While perfectly adequate, they lacked the exceptional flair that distinguishes truly outstanding oysters. A unique house-made sauce or a creative garnish might have given them that extra edge.
The short ribs were the highlight of the evening. Braised to perfection, the meat was tender and flavorful, falling off the bone with ease. The accompanying mashed potatoes were creamy and rich, providing a comforting contrast to the robust meat. However, the dish was marred slightly by an overly sweet glaze. A more balanced sauce with a hint of acidity could have transformed this from merely good to exceptional.
The ambiance at Park 82 is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy decor. The service was attentive and friendly, though there were moments when the wait between courses felt a bit lengthy.
Conclusion Park 82 offers a good dining experience with high-quality ingredients and skillful preparation. While the meal had its high points, particularly the short ribs, there is potential for refinement. With a few adjustments to seasoning and presentation, Park 82 could easily elevate its dishes from good to great. For now, it remains a solid choice for a pleasant evening out, but with...
Read moreI was excited to find chicken lasagna in the area! Ordered online and the order took 40 minutes longer than quoted. Was informed by my driver that they may have forgotten about it and was preparing it! I called to check on oeder and was hung up on it after finally getting an answer!
$25 dollars for 2 dry empty rolled lasagna noodles! NO BREAD! SEE PICS AND VIDEO
When order arrived almost 1 hour late I was still excited! Then I opened bag to examine order and became very concerned about small portions! I said well looks like they ran out of food or found something to put in containers because it was end of night. I told my friend hopefully the little food we have is good! The lasagna noodles were overcooked with microwaved edges and it was very dry missing moisture! In 1 of the 2 rolled lasagna noodles It had a very small amount of chicken. The rest was stuffed with cheese very dry melted cheese but no sauce inside. Seemed like they tried to water down what could have been sauce to stretch it and pour some over top... Maybe it was left in oven too long... The spaghetti was 3 meatballs with a very small amount of sauce. I mean the meatballs were not even covered in sauce! You could have at least tossed them in sauce. The flavor of meatball was really good but the meal was dry and I couldn't eat it. It was dry pasta with nothing on it and dry meatballs. The salad had no toppings and I was given a container with a drop of literally one spoon of ranch dressing as if they ran out! Luckily I had ranch and cheese at home so I was able to...
