Wife and I were visiting Atlanta for a romantic weekend on our way back home. Checked out of the hotel and decided to check out the SweetWater Brewery on our way out of town for lunch. Opened at 1130, showed up and it was pretty busy. It didnt seem so at first, but when you take into account the patio/outdoor tables it was a lot of people.

My biggest drawback for this place was service. I'm not usually a SweetWater beer type of guy, but the two beers I sampled (both IPAs) were smooth. When I sat down I asked the bartender if I could get a beer list and she told me there wasn't one -- that I could get up and look at the taps available on the long sides of the bar. This isn't the best response. A better one would have been pointing to the QR code on the napkin dispenser that has "Beer List and Menu" written above it and saying that there may be some additional ones not on the menu. There's also a free water dispenser that is self service on the right side of the bar when you can go up and get waters (which is also kind of hard to see based on where you come in and most people comgregate on the left side). I saw a few people who asked for water (who were obviously part of a business luncheon) told to go get their own water. It wasn't mean, but in a service industry where you get paid on tips it isn't always the best option to tell people to get it themselves. Our bar tender was nice other than that, and did provide me a water when asked (in addition to my beers). There didn't seem to be any waitstaff during my time, so I sometimes saw people from outside come in to order. The kitchen seemed a little undermanned for the amount of food orders going there way, especially since they had to bring all the orders out to the table. Looked like two people in the back - it took a while for food to come out but I think they were doing their best. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza, some wings and a pretzel and it took about 45 minutes for everything to arrive, all delivered as it was finished (not the usual restaurant standard but I didn't mind). But for people who get paid by the hour and who aren't on vacation that time is too long to make SweetWater a viable lunch time choice. The food was delicious though, and I definitely would order everything I ordered again. I was also able to try the beer boiled peanuts and while good, I dont think they're better than gas station peanuts.

Overall a very good lunch and with a few tune-ups a 5 star stop for sure. May have just been during an off time, I absolutely encourage you to try this place out and get...

TLDR: this is not the vibe. Go to Monday Night Brewing.

Want to start with a positive that both my boyfriend and I love Sweet Water beer. He buys it every weekend when we go out boating. Unfortunately, after visiting this establishment, we are kind of turned off from buying this beer again. My boyfriend was soooo excited to visit his favorite brewing company, but the customer service here was very unpleasant. Every employee seemed unhappy, unfriendly, and not into the customer experience.

To give some examples: We ordered beer as soon as we walked in, with our dog (supposedly they’re dog friendly ONLY outside), asked about ordering food but we were told we have to pick a table before we could order food, got our beer, sat outside with no problems and the outside area is quite cute! When we came back in to order food, not even 15 minutes later, the lady said the kitchen was closed…. Then, a man with a beard came up and told us no dogs inside in a very stern and uncomfortable way.

Later, because my boyfriend loves Sweet Water so much, he went in and bought us shirts but another guy came to serve him and was also unprofessional and a little on the rude side.

We’re not locals, but will never be back to this place again. SUPER disappointed.

We went to Monday Night Brewing instead and loved it. Friendly staff, great environment, larger space, and allows pets inside AND outside!

TLDR:...

Barkeep was Miles, had food n drinks and I unfortunately can't say much good about this place. Bartender was very "alof" and we came at a time that wasn't busy and he took forever. Honestly I hate to say this on a Google review but he seemed high. Not good service to start. Then there was the food. Burger was OK at best, small and paddy wasn't fresh. Chicken tenders were way too small to pay $13 for the dish and then only get 3. The tenders tasted good but not worth the price for amount of food. Brussels were tasty, but cold. Beignets had good flavor, light but more like flaky pastry not real Beignets. Lastly the beer.......for going to a standard posh brewery the beer was also ok at best. Tried 3 stouts and all were overpowered with little flavor for the flavors they were advertised as. This was quite surprising considering what this place does for business. Then we tried an ale and that was a solid drink. This place use to be much better, it's overpriced with small servings, okay taste, and mediocre drinks at that. I don't leave Google reviews lightly and we got the wrong order of food for a friend and already had such a poop exp we just didn't want to add to the tailspin this place was giving us - on a non busy afternoon. Recommended my coworkers and younger friends find a...

ctually named after the SweetWater Creek State Park, this brewery has made its own claim to fame with its easy to drink beers and their famous 420 Extra Pale Ale. It recently renovated its lounging and patio area so it's a pretty dope place to check out with food ready to order to compliment your icy cold draft. They are opened everyday except Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 am to about 9 or 10 pm. The brewery tour is $8 for three 5 oz samples or add $3 bucks more to get a souvenir glass. You'll go through their brewing process and hear about how they came to be. One of the sights to see is their Dank Tank which is pretty funny to see. Aside from their classic beers and seasonal drafts, they also have some hard seltzer waters known as 'Hydroponics' and barrel aged sours/ales known as 'The Woodlands,' which are more funky, yet deep in flavor. I'm a fan! They also have a decent menu to order food from including sharables such as a giant pretzel or boiled peanuts or something more hefty such as the Korean BBQ Philly. Whatever you get, it'll pair nicely with your beer!
