Last weekend we had a friend visiting from out of town and we wanted to show him some Atlanta highlights. One Atlanta staple is @foxbrosbarbq but unfortunately it's far from the house in Brookhaven and normally there's a pretty long wait which is why I've pretty much exclusively started going to the @queosk on ottley drive. Let's discuss some of my fav dishes to get at the Queosk 1. Frito pie: I've featured these before but brisket chili on top of Fritos is a game changer 2. Brisket sandwich: a nice soft bun with some of the best brisket in town, topped with barbeque sauce and man it's good 3. Mac n cheese: this is easily the best Mac in town, super cheesy, the macaroni isn't overly soft. Bonus: The queosk is literally a set of picnic tables next to a shipping container and is right next to their catering kitchen so at minimum it's a fun vibe. The only miss at the Queosk is that you can't get the wings which might be my fav item at Fox but either way if you go here you're in for a good time!

Overall, way too pricey for the quality. It was good don't get me wrong but not worth the price. The pork ribs were good but had a distinct funk to them like they source them from a different type of pig, nonetheless they had a good caramelization around the edges. The smoked chicken salad sandwich was nice and chunky but couldn't taste any smokey flavors from the chicken, it was a huge sandwich tho. Best things from this experience was the potato salad, the coleslaw, Baked beans and the Brunswick Stew. The stew wasn't too tangy and had some spice to it which I personally liked. I wouldn't rank this place as one of the best in the country but a great "middle of the road" bbq.

Love the ambience and pop up culture here but in the end the BBQ was a let down. First off the bbq by itself was lean and soft but was missing flavor. It was kind of neutral. Since it didn’t have enough boldness by itself the rest of the details became apparent. Boring bread, average sauce, bottled tea and expense. It was 32 dollars for 2 pork sandwiches with 2 tiny sides. The next time I come here I will get the BBQ by itself and maybe that will be a better experience. Even if it’s not even close to the best it’s still a unique BBQ experience and you should still try it just don’t expect the excellent BBQ you have come to require in Georgia.

Great way to get Fox Bros without battling the crowds at their brick and mortar location. I had the Carolina pork sandwich and it was some of the best barbecue I've had-- definitely the best in Atlanta. After the pork has been smoked to perfection, they bake it in a magical Carolina-inspired concoction. The result is a true flavor experience. Topped with crisp, thick-cut pickle chips and served on a big fresh bun that held up to the sauce. Plenty of outdoor seating and within walking distance of East Pole coffee and Sweetwater brewing.

This place has very friendly service. This BBQ joint also serves the heaviest half pound serving of meat I’ve ever eaten. The potato salad is spicy but delicious. The chili is spicy, but deliciously hot. The pulled pork is all-meat, no fat. It is so delicious that it doesn’t really require sauce. However, the sauce also has a wonderful spicy kick. A mild annoyance at being asked to tip for counter service (this place is credit card only). This is where they flip the screen to face you. But this place is so awesome, so, who cares!

Got the combo plate with ribs, chopped brisket with Mac and cheese and brisket chili as the 2 sides. The meat was dry with no flavor. Mac and cheese reminded me of school Mac and cheese. They also didnt offer any bread, everywhere i have gotten BBQ from always came with at least 1 slice. We are visiting from Okla and our BBQ you can taste the smoke in the meats. You don't need BBQ sauce to help the flavor out like you needed for this food.
