I have never had Cottage Inn pizza before. My boyfriend and I are pizza snobs and we generally order from a small selection of places, rotating among each once we decide we have liked it. Everytime we go to a place, we order our pizza the same way - extra well done, deep dish, with double pepperoni. After trying something new last night, we both were pretty disappointed that this was the first pizza place that were not able to fulfill our simple requests. Attached is our request and photos to show. We could not believe we paid for 'double pepperoni' (as shown on the receipt) which clearly had not been. Not to mention I don't think they did a good job of making sure our pizza was (as shown on the receipt) 'extra- well done' it seemed simply a little crispy to us. Overall, sauce was sweet, bland tasting pizza, did not care for quality. But the disappointment of our specific order came way before the taste anyways. We now have had our one time wondering about Cottage Inn pizza clear in our minds - we will not be trying it again.

Quick, friendly, and seriously tasty — Cottage Inn is our new go-to for pizza night. 🍕 We placed an order online and picked it up without any issues. The space was busy but welcoming, and the staff was polite and efficient. It was definitely a grab-and-go kind of night for us, but everything was prepped and ready right on time. All of us require gluten-free, and the pizzas definitely exceeded expectations. Mine came with Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, bacon, spinach, and green bell pepper (no cheese), and it was so good. Thin crust with a perfect crunch and just a little chew — you’d never guess it was gluten-free unless someone told you. Ordering was easy, service was kind, and the quality really stood out. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a gluten-free-friendly pizza spot.

Ordered, "bbq chicken bacon ranch pizza," and clarified to, "chicken bacon ranch with garlic parmesan crust," & was told, "be there in 40 minutes." Arrived in maybe 15 minutes without only light tomato sauce, chicken, bacon & cheese, and a flavorful crust. It's really bland pizza but good crust. Received a $2 credit for $20 expense on a crust and was talked to by manager next day like I am a shuyster. "I wouldn't wait til next day," he said. I would. I've broken my ankle 5 times and wouldn't like to walk to the elevator again on a cold night. But no, I don't like to make excuses. They used an old pizza.

First the good....

They have good pizza. Real good. We have some dietary restrictions in our family and they have probably the best gluten free pizza we've ever had. Typically their service is good.

Now the bad...

One incident can leave a foul taste. We recently had a birthday party for my 8 year old son in which we ordered online at about 2:00 p.m. for delivery at 4:00 p.m. We received a voicemail at approx 3:30 p.m. stating that because of a large order they were filling, they could not deliver until close to 6:00 p.m. We had to cancel our order and scramble to make alternative food arrangements.

Now the ok...

Since neither the manager nor the owner was there at the time, I contacted Cottage Inn Corporate via email. I received an apology from Deborah Masse VP of Operations. She indicated I would be contacted by the franchise owner.

A day later, the owner, Bill McDonald sent an apology as well. Per his explanation, there is currently no way for them to block online orders. So if they have an unusually large order that is causing a backup, you will never know that when you order online. That is what happened to us.

Now in our case they did call shortly after the order was placed, However we missed the call. They did not leave a message. They called again over an hour later and at that time they left a message. From my standpoint that was too late in the game. The staff apparently told Bill that they had attempted to call several times. That did not happen as our logs only showed the missed call and the voicemail call half hour before scheduled delivery.

Bill did offer us a credit as a means to make it up to us, so that was nice. He also said he was working on getting this hole in the online ordering system fixed.

My advice is to enjoy the pizza but be wary of the online ordering system and make sure you can experience delivery delay if ordering for a...

I work for a hotel in Auburn Hills. We order and referrer the Auburn Hills Cottage Inn to our guest every other day if not every day. On 8/9/2014 at 11:18pm, I ordered a bbq chicken pizza and club sub, when I bit into my pizza I was stabbed in the top of my mouth. When I spit out the pizza my mouth was bleeding and it was a clear, sharp plastic object. When I called I spoke to Kennon, he asked was the plastic hard when I said yes and tried to continue my story he cut me off and said he would credit my account, I asked if I could get my money back he said, "no" he could give me a credit and that was all he could do for me. I was unsatisfied with his tone and the way he dealt with the situation, I asked if the credit could be used at a different Cottage Inn he said no, but went on to explain that he could try to transfer the credit in the morning. I am not happy that I have to pay for a pizza that I am afraid to eat, I am not happy that I am forced to use my credit at the same terrible store, and I am unhappy how Kennon could care less about their mistake. I will be contacting the store in the morning to speak with a manager, because hopefully Kennon is not the person who represents the store, and I will try to speak with the owner if it applies.

I have worked in customer service for over 10years and I am disturbed with the customer service I have received from your store. He never apologized! As I was typing this I decided to look at my sub to see if it was editable and a long hair was stuck underneath the tomato I am outraged and will be at the store in the morning this is ridiculous and I will be going to the store in the morning even if I have to wait. I will never eat at Cottage Inn no matter free or not and I will be speaking with my owner so we wont recommend Cottage inn to our guest. I will never eat here again and will not be recommending it to any...

This is by far one of the worst Locations to order from! On yesterday (Saturday 10/29/22) I ordered pizza for delivery around 10:30pm. I was told the pizza would be delivered in 40min, gave the address spelled the street name paid with my credit card. Ok They close at midnight on Saturdays So received a call around 11:40pm It’s the delivery guy calling asking for the address because he couldn’t find the house. I told him the address again he doesn’t have the address I gave when I called to place the order for delivery. Smh It’s now after 12 midnight my pizza has been riding around all this time. The delivery guy ask if I could drop my location I said sure. He still never delivered it I get a call back from delivery guy saying ok I have to clock out I’m 10 min away from Cottage Inn I personally will deliver the pizza after I clock out. Ok I was still willing to accept it, I was grateful that he was willing to do that for Us! Another 20min past by I called the delivery guys cell phone back wondering were he was and how much longer he would be. He replied “Wow the manager never called you I said no. He apologized and said someone was suppose to call me. Long story short I never got the pizza and the money was taken out of my account. The next day I had to contact Cottage Inn to speak with a different manager we waited to see if anyone would contact us first before we called in regards to the situation but no one did! So I called and I explained everything to and different manager and he offered my refund back! No one was really apologetic or anything I will never by pizza again...
