First time at this location and I was very dissatisfied with the food. I ordered the steak sandwich with fries and a friend also order a sandwich and fries. The fries were cold. We came at 11am so the fries at minimum should have been hot.
Food quality seems to be lacking or they pre-make items, which could be a problem for the price of the food, because you expect fresh food for the price and type of this eatery! The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service and friendliness of the staff were great.
Some people think you could have just sent the fries back and got new ones. Well the experience is already ruined. Having to bring attention to this and wait for another batch of fries with the busyness of the restaurant after receiving your food would make the experience even more distasteful.
I really hope they find a way to monitor quality control and have someone at least walk around asking if your food is acceptable. They ask for a tip at checkout and no one ever comes and ask how was...

I’m at Amsterdam Café this evening, and I just had the best ordering experience I’ve ever had here — all thanks to Josh at the counter. From the moment I walked up, his personality was magnetic. He didn’t just take my order — he engaged with me, asked how I was doing, shared a positive word, and genuinely made the interaction feel personal.
Josh talked about the power of staying positive and brought an energy that was contagious — the kind of vibe that makes your whole evening better. He paid great attention to my order and even brought the food out himself. That level of attentiveness and care is rare these days, and it made a lasting impression.
Give me attentive and engaged staff like this any day — it makes all the difference. Josh, thank you for turning a routine dinner into a standout moment. Your attitude, effort, and kindness truly set this visit apart from any other. Amsterdam Café, you’ve got a great one...
Read moreThis needs to be renamed to the Amsterdam Bar and Grill, it bears no semblance to the original except for the high food prices. Yes, I have been here before, yes, it was busy, but zero excuse for what we paid for tonight. Solo one man band was overly loud, to the point you could not carry on a conversation with someone right next to you. Floors and rugs were slippery, sticky, and dirty. Drink area was a mess and the ice was out. People with take out orders need a waiting area instead of making dine in customers wait for open booths and tables as others needed bussing. OK, so maybe the food will be the normal Amsterdam standard. My black and blue ribeye sandwich was a lot of gristle on an at least 3 day old, dry, stale bun. Crabcake and avocado sandwich was like a miniaturized version of what it used to be. Chicken Alfredo was mostly noodles and was just “OK”. All for almost $95. Did I mention it was loud in there? My ears are...
