I always think the five star rating system should allow a little bit more granularity. I would give this establishment a 2.7. I will admit that I just don't understand people and how things operate. I walked in and a server at the bar said " you can come over here, we have full service at the bar." There was one person behind me but I stepped over and ordered a pound of pulled pork to go, at which point she said "oh, you'll have to get that back over where you were." So I guess they don't have full service at the bar, or what does that even mean? I received my order in a brown paper bag and walked out of the restaurant thinking it was a little bit light, but I drove home to find that I had a half pound of brisket. So I drove back and they exchanged it, and I will comment that the staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. I came home for the 2nd time and unwrapped the order and it was pulled pork with a very little bit of barbecue sauce squirted on top of it. I'm not sure I get this. Either it is barbecued pulled pork or it is plain pulled pork, but squirting a little bit of barbecue sauce on a pound of pulled pork does absolutely nothing. The pulled pork was tender and smoked and delicious, and the barbecue sauce was almost non-existent and didn't taste very good. It came in a bento container with a side compartment for a roll, which was wrapped in plastic but sitting in a bunch of liquid with two pickle slices and some pickled onions. The pickle slices were very good, and the onions were not very good, and again I do not understand why you would put a bread bun in liquid. I'll have to say the people were great and the food was not so great and a little bit expensive, and served in a way that I don't understand. You can see by the photos I took that they have cornhole, and billiards, and a lot of room.

This is my opinion and my opinion only. First of all presentation was a 5 out of 5. Being from a BBQ family in Small Town West Texas, I still came in open minded. The turkey was good and was cooked perfectly. Pork belly burnt ends were good. The cornbread was amazing, the best cornbread I've tried at a BBQ place and some of the best cornbread I've had anywhere. The Mac N Cheese not much flavor in the cheese. Coleslaw was good. I do recommend trying this as I will come back to try something different from the menu. I wish they had a sampler platter. That would have been awesome. It seemed like the pork and turkey were the hit for me. It seemed like the BRISKET I ordered seemed like it had been sliced sitting there for a bit, it was kinda dry and could use some salt and pepper. Or maybe just cut to soon with no rest time. I will definitely try the other items another time.

UPDATE 04/07/2024: Burnt Ends moved to Auburn! We came to check out the new place and have some lunch. Their new location is much better than the old one, especially if you're dining in. There is plenty of space, and the ambiance is welcoming. They even have cornhole set up, which is fun. The food is still really good and they give you big portions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We moved here from the South and have been looking for a good BBQ joint. We decided to try BEB and were really pleased with the food! There was way more food than we could eat, so we'll have leftovers for lunch. The sauce is tasty, the meat is yummy and the sides were all very good. And the cornbread wasn't dry! Glad we tried them out.

Had decent experiences until tonight - IMO place is overpriced, but I go on Wednesdays because they have $1 wings and talls for smalls - great deal, right?!? And it is - don't get me wrong. However, other than that special for what it is, the food is overpriced. Tonight though urked me for 2 reasons - the service and the management's response. We arrived at 5:15, ordered 15 wings each and I had a tall bud light. 5:45 I ordered a second bud light when my wings came out. 6:15 I ordered my 3rd tall bud light. At 6:30 we had finished the wings, each of us with about 5 left. We asked if we could have some sauces to go. At 6:35 when the sauces were brought, I asked for a 4th tall bud light. At 6:40 she brought the check and asked if we needed anything else. I said, yeah I had asked for another Bud Light. At that point she let me know she could not serve me anymore. Ok. We then reviewed the bill. She had charged $2 for each cup of sauce! Literally the little to go cups you get for salad dressings, sauces etc. at that point I stood in line to speak with Melissa the manager. I saw the bartender walk by and look at me out of the side of her face and then whisper in the managers ear. The manager then came out and asked if I needed help. At first I joked no I was just standing in line to order to go food - she said well you can't keep sitting at the bar if your ordered to go food not through the bar because it's taking up a seat that Jess (the bartender) could have for customers. I then let her know I actually was waiting for her, but I saw Jess whisper in her ear and figured she wanted to give her side of the story as most people do when they know they aided in a problem. I explained that Jess never told us it would be $2 for a little cup of to go sauce when we ate in the restaurant and had leftovers, and secondly that she could have let me know when I ordered that is was policy not to serve more than 3 talls in an hour. Also, that she was talking to a regular the entire time and not observant when I tried to get my check for 3 minutes (10 people at the bar) and also that they had just as many drinks as I did. My point is: bartender could have advised of the nickel and diming of $2 for 2oz or less of sauce, and when I ordered my 4th drink politely let me know it was against bar policy to serve more than 3 per hour (which I understand, even though the manager said 1.5 talls per hour, so if that is the policy I was already over served according to their policy). The manager bit was she offered extra sauce because it was $2, instead of offering to remove it from the bill which I would have happily returned the sauces for. Left a bad impression and any good I've experience in the past wasn't enough to make me...

Unfortunately I decided to change the stars and my review following another visit to this establishment. I had an interaction with an incredibly rude manager and I would no longer go back or recommend this restaurant. l had asked the bar tender for a small side cup for bbq sauce to take in my large to go box full of food. I had decided to eat some of my food in house to enjoy fresh food and have a drink instead of just taking my food to go. I would be paying extra for a drink and a tip but thought it was worth it. A manager was close by when I asked and said I can only have a small side cup for sauce if I want to pay $2. I could put sauce in my box on top of my meat without a cup if I wanted some. I did question this as I ordered a large platter with additional meat on the side to take to go. I don’t like sauces on my food or touching my coleslaw. I informed her that with to go orders you get a sauce on the side and she proceeded to argue and tell me staff needs to be retrained if I have received one for free in the past. However, I believe this manager needs to be retrained to have reacted this way. She continued to argue with me for quite a long time telling me to contact the owner since it’s his policy, asking me my name to write down and comparing other restaurants. $2 was not the issue! The rude customer service was. This was some of the worst customer service I have ever seen! I am so glad the other staff here does not behave like this manager. She said it was her first day back after a break and now she was having a bad day, like she didn’t ruin my experience arguing with me at the bar in front of 7 other customers after I spent over $50 on food, a tip for the bar tender and drink. I would not go back or recommend this place in the future due to this interaction! This was my previous 5 star review. This place definitely needs to be busier!! I travel all over the US for work and this is some of the best BBQ and sauce that I’ve had! Drinks are great, games and stuff to do inside. I’ve been 3 times in the 2 months I have been in the area and I will likely be back. Also,...
